Overall the game idea is fantastic. I've played just over 300 hours of the game already, so obviously I have my own opinion in what needs to be changed ASAP.
First off as everyone will agree, the connection situation with the game is a complete disaster. Getting removed from the game regularly. On top of that Ubisoft have to do something about people quiting the match every time they are losing! There are currently no consuquences to ruining everybody elses experience in playing For Honour.
UNBLOCKABLE attacks should never be aloud to cancel or faint for inmediate light or heavy attacks (applied to EVERY character). The perfect example for this is what every Kensei player exploits. Unblockable over head then 0.2 seconds later in to a side swipe - ridiculous.
Being able to side step constantly, even when you have no stamina! Peace Keepers, Orochi's, Beserkers etc will always have an advantage. These characters are already incredibly quick.
Leading on to the Lawbringer. I would love to play the chatacter regularly, but the guys moves list is incredibly basic, with no solo unblockable attack like the Raider. You have to play a certain predictable way as hes so limited. Also he is so slow that he cannot compete in a duel or brawl basis - period.
Spamming the same constant attack. I think when you use the same move repeatedly the stamina cost of the move should gradually increase. Maybe an extra 10 - 15% every time its used.
(USING SAME EXACT ATTACK REPEATEDLY)
Eg. First attack = Normal stamina use
Second attack = Normal stamina use + 10%
Third attack = Normal stamina use + 20% etc
This will encourage players to use different attacks and abilities, making the game far more enjoyable and diverse.
Revenge activation needs to be looked at. Too many top tier 108 players play simply for the constant revenge mode. Its so easily trigged constantly, very unfair to players but especially people who are not 108. Played against a Peace Keeper a few days ago who simply went in to a corner purposely to activate their revenge constantly, followed by spammimg light attacks against everyone around them. The guy had revenge for more or less 5 minutes constantly! This about the revenge mode system not the Peace Keeper I should add.
Ubisoft need to listen to peoples direct feedback to making changes ASAP before players have enough. Such great potential in For Honour, the first of its kind. Fingers crossed....
Obviously this ain't an easy task, they'd have to rewire the whole netcode that they have been using in several games now. And as for consequences for leaving/quitting the match, it would be suicide to do it while lots of people are having connection issues.Originally Posted by Brink036 Go to original post
At this moment in time you can't easily differentiate between a legitimate disconnect and a illegitimate disconnect. So no we're not seeing this any time soon.
Not every character has an unblockable attack that they can cancel. But this is just mind games, I think this is totally legit as unblockable attacks that hurt a lot tend to be massively telegraphed. The whole attack would need to be actively avoided if you can't cancel because you'd get parried or you miss due to a dodge and getting a knife/blade/whatever in your back.Originally Posted by Brink036 Go to original post
End game with pro's is like 80% mind games where you have to deceive your opponent to get a hit in. Imagine everyone just having perfect defense reactions, you're just going to have to resort to feints of all kinds of flavors.
Side step without any stamina is suicide for assassin characters since they wouldn't be able to do their dodge-attack, which leaves them completely open to GB's.Originally Posted by Brink036 Go to original post
And, Yes you can GB someone that is dodging. However dodging backward twice is still available but doing so costs stamina, thus prolonging stam regen.
Reflex blocking is very tricky but depending on the player's skill level this could be an issue, or not. But the fact remains that after blocking or receiving a hit the block has to be refreshed and during that time you're open from all 3 sides. While other hero's only have 2 open sides without input.
If you think his kit is basic... go look at PK...Originally Posted by Brink036 Go to original post
That aside Raider isn't a hybrid like the Lawbringer. But isn't the shove like unblockable?.
I can imagine a Lawbringer could smack the living **** outta people by playing really defensively. Defend/Parry till you eliminate the stamina from your opponent, shove into GB (if shove gets side-stepped -> GB) and smack em down with a light or two and then shovel them e.t.c.
Every hero develops a meta that will get abused till the balancing kicks in. Just gotta accept that.
Now, mind you, I do admit Lawbringer is on the weaker end of the spectrum of heroes but his kit is varied, just not efficient.

i agree 100% . if you choose to side dodge the unblockable instead of going for a light attack. You are f****d if he cancel into a side step.it happened to me for the first time yesterday.i was like waow serious issue here.I know some people will stand still and try to parry the overhead attack. But you need very good skill.
I feel the same way about lawbringer. His kit doesn't allow him to have anything that connects after a shove except a GB, which can be countered. As for the parries combo, only one is really usable (light attack) and it doesn't deal any damage. I feel like more move should connect on his kit to make him viable.
