The world "God" is not allowed, not because Ubisoft hates God and won't allow you to use "God bless" as you seem to think, but to stop people saying "God is a ****" and "God smokes weed" and "The Christian God is the least popular of all Gods", or even "My God is SO much better than the other God".
That kind of stuff might cause someone to get upset, and write a strongly worded forum post criticising Ubisoft. So, instead, it's easier just to prevent people using the word "God" when creating clans for a video game. Deal with it.
It's becoming standard I guess. G rated filters are applied over in the EA Battlefront forums as well (but it IS Disney). I'd expect at least PG-13 here but I guess the irresponsible parents who let there 8 year olds play M rated games yet complain about the material on the game and internet have won.
Um, that's a thing that Ubisoft has done with their games for a while now, particularly their more narrative-driven games like AC Unity and The Division. Ubisoft doesn't care about people using God's name in a derogatory way. They do it themselves. Go watch a video of the ending of GRW (if you don't care about spoilers). Look at the end of AC Unity. Check out AC1. They don't care about offending people because they know that their religious commentary that they force into their games is going to be offensive to some people.Originally Posted by deadpandave Go to original post
