Can't launch the game in OFFLINE MODE - PC version

This game will not launch when I have it set to launch in offline mode. It has to connect to the internet to start. I bought this game because I read you can play offline? My Tom Clancy Splinter Cell Blacklist launches fine in offline mode. Ghost Recon Wildlands will not launch in offline mode. Please tell me there will be a fix for this. I am strictly on offline player! I don't want to have to connect to the internet every time I play this game!

I read somewhere that in order to play it offline you had to launch the game through the exe file and not through Uplay itself ... something like that .

Sorry didn't try it myself but it seems to work for the guy ( or girl ) that asked the question .

This only partially works for me.

If I have UPlay in offline mode, I still need an internet connection to run the game.
I've tried running rungame.exe and grw.exe when not connected to the internet and it just bounces me to the UPlay client in offline mode.

If I have UPlay in offline mode, but I am connected to the internet, then I can run rungame.exe and the game loads, but with all the online features disabled.(works as expected)
What I have noticed is that there is an "anti-cheat" program which launches as part of the game start up - this is the process requiring the internet connection, and failing when no internet connection is available.

I have the game installed on my D: drive, so not the OS drive - I understand this is a known issue, but is it linked to offline problems? - any idea on a timescale for a fix?

    yep sounds about right

I'm having the same issue as well, anytime I press anything that involves launching the game it forces uplay to log in. This has to be addressed as singleplayer should NEVER require you to be online. And also, the customer service didnt even provide support they just said thanks basically and disappeared after responding 2 days later. what the ****?

Got this one sussed - eventually

    Launch UPlay
Set to always start in offline mode
Quit UPlay (do not log out)
Launch rungame.exe in the game folder

Sometimes, UPlay will still complain about not being able to log in - change the settings again to always start in offline mode, launch UPlay, quit UPlay and launch rungame.exe.

    HTH those having issues

    Fix?

Is there a potential fix for this issue in the works at all? I live in an area where highspeed internet is not available. Currently I am forced to have to quickly log in online, which takes a good 15 minutes, then get in game and shut my wifi off manually to avoid being charged overages via my ISP. I can only assume many others have similar issues, but regardless the game has been launched and boasted as "Can be played without an internet connection" so far that statement has proved to be nothing but a lie and a good headache at best.

    Absolutely going down hill!

This is why Ubisoft anymore is just plain trash. They think oh lets make a game, throw a single player campaign that doesn't require any internet at all but the only way you can play it is to have internet. Not everyone can afford to have internet access and it is just downright asinine to keep making these games to require a internet connection. Ubisoft does not care about making games for everyone anymore all they care about is the half of the gaming population that has internet and that they can appeal to. This is why I've quit buying they're games even though I have an Xbox One and a PC I cannot play any of they're new games they come out with that has a single player campaign because I do not have internet in my home. I don't know why they make it almost impossible to play a game in offline mode.
