new nvidia drivers 378.92 out and its better but turf is still goosed.
Well damn, I forgot all about the Turf effects. Indeed its extactly that what's causing the serious stutters. Turf off and suddenly I have a very playable SLI experience, with only an occasional hiccup and split-second ground textures disappearing. Also some flickering here and there, the usual, so there's definetely more work to be done.
Thanks for reminding me of this. Been running one card WITH Turf all along at 30fps, now I'm well over 50.![]()
Hi all, for what its worth (and to add some more evidence to the post) I ran 6 benchmarks to test the effects on frame rate of both SLi being on / off as well as the Turf Effects. Details of my rig are below and I can post screenshots of the benchmark results if required.
My Rig
Intel i7 5820K 3.4GHz (Broadwell-E) @ 4.4GHz and watercooled
2 x Samsung 850 Evo 500Gb SSD in Raidi-0
Kingston Fury Black 16Gb (4x4Gb) DDR4 2400MHz
2 x MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Aero OC 8192MB in SLi and watercooled
Gigabyte X99-UDP4 X99 DDR4 EATX Mobo
Monitor is an ASUS PB287Q 28" 4K native resolution using a display port to ensure it is running at 60Hz
Resolution is 3840 x 2160 for all benchmarks
Results
1 - Single GPU
NVidia Recommended - Min 28.63, Max 42.41 Average 36.08
Ultra - Min 24.70, Max 35.26 Average 30.10
2 - SLi enabled - using Force Alternate Frame Rendering 2 as per Ubi's instructions
NVidia Recommended - Min 34.72, Max 51.64 Average 45.82
Ultra - Min 26.50, Max 44.29 Average 38.74
3 - SLi enabled - Turf Effects disabled (all other settings untouched)
NVidia recommended - Min 44.42, Max 60.04 Average 51.98
Ultra - Min 38.27, Max 47.62 Average 43.76
From a game play perspective, SLi still suffers from being 'juddery' in game (really noticeable when driving) and there are still quite a lot of flashing textures especially during changes in weather and when moving from daytime to nighttime. This is hardly noticeable in single GPU mode. The game also crashes once every hour or so. Even with the lower frame rates. the game feels more smooth in Single GPU mode and it hasn't crashed yet although admittedly I have not played as long in Single GPU mode. That said given that it crashes at least once per session (i usually get to play for 1-2 hour stints) in SLi and it hasn't crashed yet in Single GPU mode it seems as though SLi is still causing a few issues problems. However, crashing aside, the game is much more playable with SLi on a turf effects turned off although still not as playable as it is on single GPU mode.
I do hope that Ubi will continue to improve things for high end PC systems as it is clear to see how beautiful the game is and I don't know about anyone else but I am really enjoying it anyway.![]()
Second patch and NO CROSSFIRE SUPPORT again! What is going on? Ubisoft, knock-knock!
Its seems that the 2.0 patch has addressed the Turf effects in SLI and no longer causes massive stutter, at least on my system. Can anyone else verify this? Else I may just be lucky.
Also the game SEEMS to be more stable in that I crash less now, though I have yet to put in a few continuous hours. I just played about 30 minutes to try the patch.
For the record:
i7-7700k @ 5.0Ghz
32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 @ 3200Mhz
2x MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X @ 2050Mhz

nVidia 970s SLI, driver 378.78, RGWL patch http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...-2-Patch-notes
SLI works much better, no more stuttering. And I found out the flickering for the most part in benchmark was due to Temporal AA were used, when I changed it the flickering was gone. BUT there is some small flickering ingame, from time to time, may be related to shadows.
970 SLI, 1440p, FXAA, HBAO+, draw high, LoD high, texture high, aniso 16, shadow high, terrain high, veg high, turf on, blur off, bloom on, god rays on, subsur off, lens flare on, long range shadows on = ~ 65 FPS average in benchmark.
give this game 1 year and then you will be abale to play it...to bad the game will be like 10 euros and we payed 60-90 euros haha
since the 378.92 update and game patch 2 the games better but its crashing to desktop![]()
It's been days since anyone from ubi has posted update on the state of the game or even to update the known issue list and the patch information.
And on that, It would be nice if the the pc area of the fourm's for the patch notes were just the pc note and not ps4/xb1 and this also goes for the known issues list.
Also I'm still get mad flickering in game, drone/binos not working, textures popping late, VHC desturction random, Multiplayer silencer random and the flashbang amounts wrong finaly the game crashes
Could we also get some clarification with alternate frame rendering as ubi say's 2 but nvidia drivers are set to 1, might help if ubi speak to nvidia the guys they worked with.
