Except he has no move to initiate a fight with. Shove works as a way to create a (very small) opening, which is needed against block heavy opponents, like a Warlord or a Conq.Originally Posted by SirFelix87 Go to original post
He has no attack for initiating a fight because he's not an initiator. But if you need to crack open a turtle you ought to walk up to him really slowly and then guard break him. Guard break him a couple times if he keeps countering it and then go for a long arm.Originally Posted by secrecy274 Go to original post
Clearly you're a pro turtle then. Explain to me how you fight a Conqueror for example who just turtles, shield spam, and light attacks? Long arm you say? Cool that's a free light that does no damage. Guard break you say? Awesome he can just counter GB all day.Originally Posted by SirFelix87 Go to original post
How can you be a counter character when the meta is defense....
If a Conqueror shield bash than just side dodge into a shove and then guard break into a side or top heavy depending on the situation. If he turtles the defense than try a couple guard break attempts after giving him plenty of time to make an attack himself. He'll counter it, yup, that's the intent. After you've rhythmically thrown out 2 or 3 guard breaks make a long arm attempt and smack him while on the ground. You can also go for a heavy feint.Originally Posted by Apaolo_ Go to original post
Finally, you can simply respond to his turtle by turtling yourself. It depends on the situation, but most of the time players will eventually give in and make an attack attempt. If you're in a duel against a conqueror who is annoying you with being overly defensive than respond by being overly defensive and aim to either run out the clock and force a tie or cause him to give up defending and make an attack. If you're attacking a base in dominion than just sit by and contest their zone, who cares? They'll lose and you don't need to crack his defense. If you're defending and he's turtling up you can call for help if you need.
Take a look at the situation, especially in Dominion. If your team is winning and/or you have more bases or your allies are having a successful time killing your enemies than you don't need to be in such a rush to kill this guy.
