How do I know if I've received the pre-order bonus?

Not even 100% what I get, haven't gotten a pop-up that I got it or anything. I know there was a mission, but can't see it on the map.

Thats season pass, not pre-order bonus. Unless I'm missing a text in there

Click the game to bring up game details (assuming you are playing on PC) and make sure you are in overview of the game scroll down on the right hand area and look for owned DLC. You should have the Peruvian connection mission

I like how all my local targets only got 1 gold edition of the game total. And they mysteriously don't even have the gold digital download cards either.

Wanted to get buy 2 get 1 free golds.

Super lame. Oh well.

Thats strange. You mean to do this in the Uplay client, right?

When I scroll down in Overview, I don't see "Owned DLC" anywhere

Exactly, there is no "Owned DLC" sector anywhere, only "dlc" mentioned is to buy SP..
