I love the core gameplay experience of for honor, but I'm not much of a competitive player, so I like to stick to AI matches for the co op experience, but that tends to get old after a while. This game needs more co op options. Rainbow six follows a similar model, and has terrorist hunt, and back in rainbow six Vegas, we had our fully customized characters in both terrorist hunt and campaign co op (which had drop in drop out matchmaking)
I understand that For Honor's campaign has given more identity to the main characters than rainbow six Vegas, so I wouldn't ask for us to be able to change that with customized, choose any class type thing for your FIRST playthrough, but I think that once you beat the story mode once, you should be able to play it with any class (even playing knight heroes in the viking/samurai campaign, samurai in the viking/knight campaign, and vikings in the knight/samurai campaign) using your customized characters in game with the campaign characters taking over during cutscenes, and gaining rewards similar to playing AI matches in the faction war, like character XP, gear, and steel (with higher rewards for playing higher difficulties of course) with matchmaking to join random co op campaign games (that are set to public).
I know For Honor's campaign isn't the greatest we've seen, but It's really the only co op this game has. As much as I personally enjoy PvAI matches, it just isn't the same as a dedicated co op mode like terrorist hunt or campaign, So unless they decide to add co op modes like terrorist hunt, co op players like myself need a way to matchmake into campaign games and have it as a part of our characters' progression.
