    Warden Mechanics question

    Quick question for you, friends.

I just did a 1v1 duel, Warden v. Warden. When I did shoulder bash-->side light attack (the double hit one) he was able to block the side light after being bashed. I thought the side light after shoulder bash was guaranteed, so I asked him to teach me. All he knew is that it is block-able; I wasn't able to block his light attacks after he shoulder bashed me, but he could block my light attacks after I shoulder based him.

He suggested I try flicking the block repeatedly after being bashed since it wasn't working for me, but I use mouse+keyboard so I wasn't really able to try that.

I've seen no mention of this being blockable amid all of the threads complaining about 50/50. If the non-GB 50/50 (shoulder bash-->light attack) is blockable, the 50/50 is a 0/0 because you can just sit there and block, and counter GB if they do the other one.

TL;DR: Has anyone been able to block the side-light attacks after shoulder bash??? I saw it with my own eyes repeatedly, so I know it's possible.

I'm not sure I understand the question. I'm playing For Honor on PC.

    You understood perfectly

I always thought it was a free light after the SB so i guess your opponent could be using a bot. Although i'd have to test this evening to see if its blockable.

I feel a little sorry for PC users, must be hard knowing if any of your opponents are legit or not.

I play mostly Warden on PS4 and can confirm that occasionally my side light after shove gets blocked also, so I guess you can rule out the cheating aspect. As for exactly how it's done, I'm afraid I don't know as I rarely seem to fight a fellow Warden.

Nice one for clearing that up

Feel free to add me on ps4 Kaijudub if you ever fancy some warden vs warden practice!

As a main warden (reputation 4, soon to hit 5) that loves to 1v1, I can confirm it's pretty damn possible. Picture this case:

Your opponent is dumb/slow enough not to dodge your shoulder bash, you hit him/her and do your side attack. Unless you're fighting and assassin, all the other classes in game have stationary guards. Should you attack from the side they were guarding you're asking to get that blocked, with all that means.

With that said, there's a way to increase your chances of successfully hitting those light attacks. Let's say you hit your two side light attacks or a single top light and then follow up with a shoulder bash. In the time it takes for the warden to actually charge at your "inimicus" pay close attention to the last position of his/her guard. That way you know from where you should NOT attack. Should you be insecure about it, your opponent being proficient in blocking or any of you having a bit of lag go for a top light and another shoulder bash. If you're feeling confident you can also go top light into side light, but never dual top as the second side light has almost if not the same speed. If you're feeling more confident, go from the top light into a side heavy or a side heavy faint.
As I stated, it increases your chances of hitting, it doesn't guarantee it. After the shoulder bash your opponent has an almost non existent window of frames to change his guard position and block you. It almost never happens. If it does he/she is either a god of blocking or, most likely, got lucky.

One final tip: Should you shoulder bash your opponent into a wall don't go for light attacks. Do a top heavy. Same logic goes if you guardbreak them and push them into a wall.

    Hope this helps

I appreciate the thoughtful post! But I'm not sure this is the case. When I tested it with the Warden I mentioned, my guard was already to the left before he bashed me, and then failed to block his attack in the same direction. So, my previous guard did not stay up throughout the bash-->lights combo
