You are not important to the rest of the community. That said, a quick and powerful attack makes more sense it can cut through multiple weapons, shields and torsos than one that has to reach you by ground mail. Any slower and most of these moves will be punished immediately. All of them, ALL OF THEM always come from the same direction and can be blocked or parried. Don't like sitting in left guard all day? Zone Attacks are a pretty solid option for the game... Please keep in mind that they cost like HALF a bar of stamina and deal very low damage for that cost.
Some ZA are faster, some are more damaging, some have greater reach, some hit multiple players easier, some are unblockable... It''s actually EXTREMELY well designed. Why should all ZAs be exactly the same speed / damage? That's like game design in the 80s. It's not Double Dragon, where your heroes are basically just reskins. Different heroes, different speed / damage... Just accept it.

You really want to try to defend that they intentionally made zones to be viable dueling tools when the revenge and GB and parry system are in the shambles they are in?
It was an utter and complete mistake that ZAs are viable in duels and nothing else.
Like I said earlier, the characters that are playing out the way they were intended are not viable. Kensei and Orochi (less so because he does have a good ZA) and Lawbringer are characters that are being played the way they were designed and they are bottom rung characters because of it.
The big pile of cheese characters like Warlord and Warden and Peacekeeper are the ones ruining this game spamming their cheesy garbage moves in unintended fashion.
Some guy asked me why I would play a game that is this cheesy... fact is I haven't turned it on for a week now because it is garbage.
