I actually want to see lighter marksmen rifles included, like the M14 DMR, that can operate with some smaller 3.4x optics, perhaps even 2x optics.
I've quite enjoyed using the M40A5 in a mid-to-close marksman capacity, supporting assaulting squad members. It's a lot of fun and there's not really a lot of rifles that do this job well. The M14 DMR would be a great addition to fill that role.
There is a Mk 14 EBR as well as a KAC SR-25 (better known by it's U.S Army GWOT name, the M110). There are also at least 2 .50 Cal snipers.
COD and Battlefield have beat the M82 and M107 to death as godlike sniper rifles and in real life they suck. Their accuracy borders on unusable past a few hundred meters. I for one am extremely glad they left them out.
The DTA HTI is just like a Tac-50 only more compact. Newer design, arguable better. I did some testing and the HTI is a VERY efficient anti-vehicle anti-material rifle. Going to make stopping those convoys a hell of a lot easier.
There is a Mk 14 EBR, which is a battle rifle configuration (thus EBR) of the M14 with full auto. As you might expect, the game doesn't really treat it as a marksman rifle, it treats it like an assault rifle (and it's not wrong to do that).Originally Posted by PewpyPants Go to original post
The M14 DMR and EMR are semi-auto configured for marksmen shooting. So balance-wise, in the game it'd have to be basically a 'sniper rifle' with a high RoF and lower effective range/damage than the higher calibers, higher recoil than assault rifles on semi-auto mode. And more limited optics options.
If there's a different M14 in the game I haven't noticed.
I would rather have more Shotguns. An actual Pump Action Shotgun that isn't the Super Shorty wich holds only 2 Shells.
The lists of Assault Rifles, Rifles and SMG's is pretty big but there are only 3 Shotguns (not counting the Legendary ones cause they are only Variations of the other 3 Guns).
There is the Super Shorty (wich is basically the "Sawed Off" Shotgun), the Spas 12 (Semi Auto) and the SASG12 (Semi or Full Auto).
And please don't argue about realism and how useless Shotguns are for Combat (i have seen this Discussion on many Forums of Miltiary Shooters already).
If the Shotguns are realistic in any Way in Wildlands than they shoud have quite a Range and Bullets should not vaporize beyond a certain Range like they saddly do in alot of Games.
And for the Realism of how usefull Shotguns are in Combat Situations: i think by this Point we have figured out that Ghost Recon Wildlands is not a hyper realistic Military Sim it is a Tactic Shooter GTA Hybrid that is trying to balance Balance Action-Fun with Realism. And having more Variety in Weapons means more Fun in the Way of open Combat to me. And while we are at it i would also like the Game to Feature some Revolvers.
I know these are not the most Tactical Weapons since they can't use Silencers and there for are unfit for Stealth. Also i know that in Combat Situations more "modern" Weapons are more usefull than an Revolver or an Pump Action Shotgun but then again Ghost Recon Wildlands tries to Balance the Realism with Fun. And those Weapons while more Challenging to use are more Fun to me.
