Because I could list off immediately a list of a dozen games where they've listened to player feedback in the past, which has led to positive change?Originally Posted by philbert009 Go to original post
At least my opinions or sentiments of UBI is the biggest crap when it comes to GR & R6... I have been waiting for a change since GRAW & r6 and my last shot was GR since they pummeled R6 (No solo Campaign for starters) and now GR with this... well, whatever this fiesta platter is.
I don't trust a word they said because I know their history but if a new gamer pops in and reads all the double meaning words they throw around, they have no other recourse but to believe what they are saying is true... little do they know.
Ubisoft does take feedback into account but people need to understand the difference between feedback and "This is how I want the game to be". Another issue is people who want Ubisoft to validate their opinion because they believe if a Ubisoft community manager doesn't respond to their thread then the company must not be listening. I can tell you that Ubisoft does take our, legitimate, feedback into account and from my experience with working with some teams they have people who look at the forums for this kind of productive feedback. PLayers also need to understand that as "Simple" as they might think it is to fix or change something a company has a lot of red tape to go through sometimes. They need to consider if financially it is worth it to allot manpower to fix the issue, how it actually impacts the game and things of that nature. You can scroll through the forums and tell the difference between feedback and people looking to vent their opinion about the game. While I am sure they take their customers opinions into account the idea that one person, or even 50 people, represent such a small amount of the consumers actually purchasing and funding their product with special editions/microtransactions, etc. The market will always speak for itself and as long as the masses who do not necessarily post their feedback keep buying it will always create a rift between how a game is developed or what the current industry standard is and the players who actually give feedback about the game. Now if 500 people across each platform voice their feedback about a particular issue then it is probably going to be addressed but more than half the time it is not feedback it is complaining.
Well, it makes the Heli easy to fly in a straight line... Like a train. But it's useless as a... You know, helicopter xD You wana be able to make smooth flybys and manouvers- Land to pick a friend up and make a fast getaway from a firefight. As it is now it's simply not usefull or fun... Just practical to get long distances. Like a train :POriginally Posted by InfiniteZr0 Go to original post
I'll probably catch flak for this but every time I play a game where you can fly a helicopter I always hope and am let down that it's not similar to the control and feel of the BF3/BF4 heli's. Only difference being I'd like the hover to ACTUALLY hover, as in Battlefield they slowly fall instead of stay steady.Originally Posted by Doublefinn Go to original post
To me Battlefield had some of the best, easy to control and maneuver, heli's I've seen in a game.
It's not the easiest, but Apache: Air Assault is the pinnacle of gaming helicopter controls for me. Perhaps a little bit too sim for some, but just the right blend of sim and arcade for my taste...Originally Posted by xXAvengersoulXx Go to original post
...I certainly wasn't expecting the same from GR, but practical helicopter controls along the lines of those in Mercenaries, GTA, Battlefield etc. is what I (and seemingly a lot of other posters) would like.
As for the current control situation, this post pretty much hits the nail on the head for me:
The helicopters aren't difficult to use at the moment, but they are far too restricted. I wanted to be buzzing round everywhere in a helicopter during the beta, but I found the controls so irritating I opted to travel by land instead!Originally Posted by Doublefinn Go to original post
not really as people were complaining about the controls in the beta and they have said nothing!Originally Posted by philbert009 Go to original post
they arnt difficult? they are totally messed up man and ubisoft have said nothing ie. dont seem to care.. i cant fly forwards and the heli tilts forwards and backwards all the time.. i try and make the heli go down and the front end flips up lol FOOBARD!Originally Posted by tbtstt82 Go to original post
In your opinion, do you personally think the day 1 patch had some nice optimizations in it?Originally Posted by TickTak77 Go to original post
After talking to some of the guys that are streaming it already, they said the patch has helped with optimizations and other stuff.
The controls were fine for me in Open Beta. At least on helicopters. Now that POS of a fixed wing aircraft ... different story, but I can't complain. I think for the fixed wing I am just being overly OCD because I am a real-world pilot. So officially on the record I'd probably have to say that for most folks the fixed wing controls will be okay, also. It just bugs me that the aircraft stays rolled when you let off the controls LOL. But that's just me.
The helicopter, though, I find VERY easy to fly and makes getting around the map a lot easier. If I had to change one thing about the helicopter controls, maybe a little less exaggeration on vertical controls. I find it a chuckle to be hovering a few feet above the ground, barely tap the CTRL key and the chopper just slams down and bounces. So much for easing off the collective to make a gentle landing LOL.
