When running and switching to sprinting in combat, will occasionally open the emote wheel and cannot be removed be any means. I have had this happen in the open world, survival and last stand. The player will be immobilized and is completely vulnerable.

Opening the menu will only let you select the bottom right tile as the game still thinks you are in the emote wheel. Logging out has the same effect. The game still thinks you are in the wheel and behaves accordingly. Force quit is the only option.

Quite annoying when you are doing so well in survival or last stand and being punished for multitasking.

Do you know what the cause is of this or if you are able to reproduce it consistently?

this happens during buttons mashing moments......ie combat and the poster is correct ur are in effect stuck in an out of game cycle so are completely vulnerable. Exiting to login does not fix the 'out of game' curser bug.
Please please PLEASE give us the option to completely disable this totally useless 'feature' emotes are redundant especially as Ubisoft now are monetising them

Yes, button mashing moments, like running away from enemies, dodging fire, combat rolls, etc.
