not going to lie main problem is theres no cost or risk that comes with blocking. its why shield characters can sit there and block and block. blocking needs a stamina cost that comes with it

Agree, it's painful seeing him just turtling and not even one way of punishing that. At least there's chip damage on other fighting games.

    1v1 in a nutshell

    Title.

Feints are just too slow on some classes, so if you have a medium, slow class vs a turtle, just get bored and tie, or die, you won't win.

Shields need chipdamage or stamina reduction when they block or parry

Doesn't change the fact that the characters with a shield can play it safe the entire time.

There is chip damage... It's just really low.

unfortunately, I didn't see any in the match. I'm going to give you one example, in nioh, if you block, you spend ki (same as stamina), it's the exact same for the enemies, it never feels unfair or boring because of that, you're going to always be active. Even without something like guardbreak you can still break guard if you keep at it, of course you'll exaust yourself too if you aren't careful, but that way there's a limit for turtling.

Kensei has nothing to deal with a turtling character.
If that guy used parry instead of block the kensei would die without being able to do ****, and this goes for any class, not just "shields".

Kensei needs a shove/bash or some gimmick to be viable. As long as every single attack can be parried this will happen.

I absolutely agree, but that type of game can be done ultra effectively with ALL classes, maybe assassins could struggel, but they have ultra rapid dodge so...

Sure thing is, that gameplay is ruining the game, because essentially there is no fun involved, Need to change ASAP, or the game won't last
