In all honesty, anyone saying that the Raider doesn't need work is an idiot and just wants other people to suffer. He's slow. You easily parry his lights. Against a good player, feints don't work. The raider can start up any attack and you don't need to even parry. If the Raider starts to attack, just attack him. You will hit him first. I play duel with raider all the time and I do well. But it doesn't change the fact that many fights are an uphill battle. I shouldnt have to do a bunch of feints just to get some damage. I never feint as a valkyrie and ive won like 75% of my duels. Even before the buff. Feints only screw up lower skill players. You have to cancel the animation so fast that its so obvious. It's so easy to just move or parry all of his attacks. Hes the only class in the entire game that has no guaranteed heavy on anything but an out of stamina throw. You shouldn't have to waste 2/3 of your stamina to get a guard break and do your zone attack for some guaranteed damage. Faster characters completely outclass him and heavier classes are tankier AND attack faster. His charge and knee can't even bring you below 1 stamina. By the time they are up, they have most of their stamina back already AND for some ******* reason which I can't even fathom, the person you just knee slammed has ARMOR on wakeup so if you attack, they can either parry you or just attack you faster than you can attack them. And if you both attack, you just trade damage. And it's safe to just keep spamming attacks against him because even if he parrys you, his only guaranteed damage takes most of his stamina. And since it's not in the middle of a combo, It does less damage than a heavy. So just keep wailing on him because he can't even change guard stance fast enough to block. And if he does block? Who cares. Just keep swinging because if he tries to guard break you, you'll hit him. He tries to light you? You'll hit him.

We can all agree the only reason he hasn't been buffed yet is because he performs well in the 4v4 game modes because if you don't pay attention, He will come up behind you and obliterate you. Or just charge you into a wall while his teammates heavy you. He's going to get a buff. Soon I'm assuming. And when he does, I hope all you fools who think he's fine get your head split open by him.

No character should have to work 10 times harder for things that everyone else gets for minimal effort

I couldn't have said it better myself. You just saved me a bunch of typing on a mobile device. I salute you sir.

EDIT : Just to add to the **** storm though, he also appears to be the only class that can't guard break immediately after a parry. Either his guard break range is shorter or he pushes his opponent too far away during the parry, I'm not sure which. He's labeled as a grappler and has a harder time grappling than any other class. What a joke.

After playing more with my raider I'm convinced he just needs a guarenteed heavy after a guard break and a speed increase for his guard stance. Right now your main game is to feint to bait that heavy then parry into a gb then unblockable. But that will take most your stamina for a bar of damage. Not the best of trades.

The devs could of course do more. But since they think that because of the "data" that the raider is somehow a PK counter, i doubt we'll see much of a raider buff. Nothing like the valk changes at least.

Once again fellow replier lol Thank you for having the knowledge base of a raider and stating facts. This should help those who don't understand why he is disadvantaged and I appreciated the feedback. This is a great summary to my initial frustrations of the raider. How is he gonna be a model for the game but be so disadvantaged?

Agreed, but he def needs a few more buffs as well. Now the valkyrie? OMG the buffs they received makes them a f'ing beast.

I play him, too. Have been for a few days. The only time the unblockable works the first time is if your enemy isn't paying attention to you or doesn't parry. Feint with it once or twice and you'll have success with it in the future.
I'm sorry, but for somebody to comment with suggestions on a character who stated "Have been playing him for a few days" when me, the OP has been playing him since the finalized game even came out, I completely disregard this comment. I still play him now, and that **** doesn't work. Go to the next page and see the long post another member commented on. You do not have the experience to make a valid comment about the raider.

Having been using all of the characters in the game I certainly am experienced enough with Raider both with one and against one. I may have only been playing Raider since last week but that doesn't mean the things I've learned from other classes hasn't been useful for him, too. I've had a lot of success with the Raider despite just having started using him. He doesn't need work, he needs a competent player who doesn't just need his attacks to be faster. If you're being outclassed by faster classes than you've got the wrong play style for this character. He might not be as hard as you think, he just can't play the way you want him to.

Agreed. My personal favorite is when I line up my charge grab and connect dead center, only to watch my hero slide around them and keep on going.
