Did they patch out being able to see the number of online players?

Load up the game, hit F2, can you see the amount of online players? I can't.

    I'm glad they did.

This way people can stop acting like the sky is falling due to players leaving a game a couple weeks after launch. Every single game sees a drop in players after the initial hype and coverage goes down.

    Every. Single. Game.

this is purely hypothetical, but im gonna go out on a limb here and say that it was broken on launch, the gold edition purchase ended up being a customer service fiasco all by itself, 40% of the game modes are worthless, and the game functions on a P2P system like Quake, Doom, or Warcraft II, all of which are 20+ year old titles.

of the actual gameplay itself, i have no idea, the menu was kind of pretty, and thats where i spent most of my time. i dont know if guard break needs to be fixed or what classes are useless, because you have to be able to get in games consistently to figure that out. most of the information that I gathered first hand amounted to a list of unique error codes on a legal pad, none of which mean anything to a console player EXCEPT that clearly I bought a broken game.

wouldnt you patch out a constant reminder to all connected players that this game was hyped to do flips when all it does is flop?

and if ANYTHING, coverage went up after release, not down. In some cases, reviewers even went back and re-reviewed the game and released a second, more truthful review to keep from losing their own social momentum by backing a dead horse for a check.

its pretty rare for any game company to release 2 titles in 4 months that both feature massive gamebreaking problems in the multiplayer, when most people buy them for the multiplayer. maybe there is some other company out there cranking out online multiplayer games where the multiplayer is basically not functioning on launch, but if they exist, i guess im just one of the lucky ones to not know about it.

there is a difference when a game goes down in number of players after launch to completely vanish.its not even in the top 10 played steam games.the game will die with p2p ancient platform and with the amount of bugs the game has.also they buff heroes before they even address party bugs and so many other bugs that just ruins the game completely.its just pure incompetence and laziness from the developers of this game

Maybe on PC... For Honor is strong as f4ck on ps4... theres always 50-100k players online.. and they still display it,

In all other cases I would agree; What makes this case of patching out the player count unacceptable is, well... the fact they patched it period.

Sounds dumb I know but think about it; the forums are swelling with technical issues and a lot of the features are unusable to those who have strict NATs (Some with moderates as well). There are still tons of glitches and matchmaking issues on top of the network issues. So amongst all that chaos and anger they put out a patch to buff two warriors that a large majority had already thought to be OP, to fix the berserker and conqueror (not many issues w that), revert some features(Guardbreak) back to how they were in the beta, annnnnnd delete the player count.

What most people, including myself, are most likely wondering is; why the **** would they waste time patching the player count and other small tweaks(Like Orochis) when looming issue is their P2P system not working for a majority of people? Why aren't they focusing on that?

In essence they're covering their asses.

Id agree if thats what the game started at, I've been watching the player count for the past few weekend its steadily decreased. At launch the game had upwards 200k, around a week later it was barely over 120k, little over a week ago 100k, beginning of this week 64k, right now 49k.
