This thread is to share your most satistfying match ever. This can be a specific one or when generally fighting a certain hero. Here's mine.
I was practicing with Nobushi in duel, just trying to learn her combos when I get into a match with an Orochi. I know how to counter him but because of my lack of experience with Nobushi he mops the floor with me 1st round. The next two rounds are similar except he takes his time and humiliates me.
The match is over in an eyeblink and I challenge him to another, he accepts. Probably excited at the prospect of more noob tears. However, I pick my Warlord this time. Match starts, he walks towards me non-chalant like he's going to destroy me again. Nope, just as he get's ready to do a riptide strike I do my jumping heavy attack and nail him. He dashes into a side attack and I parry into shield bash into heavy, GB him and throw him in fire. 1st round is over. The next round I do the same thing and deal out heavy punishment, ending the round with that execution where the WL bashes his little brain out of its skull. Last round is on the edge of that cliff with the tiny hut off to the side. I get up to him real close and go into my full block stance to bait his GB before I CGB him which sends him off the edge. The second that registered in his head he rage-quit the match.
Though my sides were pained from laughing so hard the salt I got out of it will last me my life.
One where you start at the map that does not have a hazard in the middle, and there is a cliff or two but you got to look for them. Then you have someone who actually does not solely believe that you are the only one who has to attack and they are entitled to go full defense for every single match they play. Wait.... that game does not have any of this, so no satisfaction yet.
Wow, talk about sticking to the end. Sounds like you held out well!Originally Posted by Maarmang Go to original post
Certainly you've had some satisfying matches, otherwise you wouldn't be here on the forums.Originally Posted by M0nso0n Go to original post
Sadly, most of the people on forums are actually the ones complaining the most. Thats why you can't see much positive threads because people who enjoy actually play the game rather than talk about it on here.Originally Posted by GamingBotanist Go to original post
When the game first released I chose to main the Lawbringer. Well 2 Renown levels later I dedicated myself to duel so I could become more proficient at holding my own and learning how to fight the other characters with him. I will preface this little story by saying that to me duel is a fantastic experience and Id have bought the game for that sole mode honestly. It is by far the most crucial learning tool in the game and it is an absolute thrill finding someone who feels the same about it. I had gotten in to a match with a Warden. We politely saluted each other and he proceeded to smash my huge armored face into the ground. He and I chose to have a rematch and I had been very carefully learning the quirks and tells of the Warden so this time I actually won one of the three only being destroyed by a slightly lesser degree this time. Again we accepted a rematch this time with me wining by a very narrow margin. Six or seven rematches later we were practically flowing against each other there was hardly two seconds when a sword or axe head wasn't being swung and then promptly blocked or parried as we traded back and fourth. I actually invited him to chat on headset(PS4) and we spent two whole matches just testing things we weren't fully sure of with our characters or things we didn't fully understand about the other. It was something that even with all its issues and shortcomings cemented For Honor as one of my all time favorite games.
Very inspiring. I wish there were more matches like that. I've had that kind experience myself. The matches that continue off of deep respect and a zeal to learn a specific matchup are also very satisfying.Originally Posted by XImohtephXX Go to original post
Edit: also, I just noticed the title of your reply. I got a good laugh out of that.
