    Lawbringer issues from a Rank10 perspective

    I'm a R10 Lawbringer. I have a thing for playing underdog characters.

    Issues in order of importance
    (Note this is in regards to high level 1v1 play with OPEN NAT 54Mbps)

    1) Guard Stance Change Speed
    He's a tanky counter character ... Who can't counter. Because you can't counter... What you can't block.
    I understand his attacks been slow, but why is his block stance change speed slower than anyone else's? Hes a "counter" character who literally can't keep up with enemy attacks, and they know it.

    2) Attack Damage To Low

    I get his attacks are slow and are very easily dodged, parried, and blocked. I get that the stamina cost for these attacks are high if somewhat to high, BUT what I don't understand is how he can pay that massive price, and have his attack damage be so low.

    3) Counter/Parry Follow Up

    With dodge the way it is, and what feels like 95% of players playing assassins, on chance you do manage to block the mad flurry of attacks his Counter/Parries cant connect due to dodge making them pretty much useless.
    His shove does no damage and even if you do manage to get their stamina down they just spam dodge faster than you can run, free of cost, to get away. Dodge should not be enabled if stamina in on cool down.
    An Exception for this is his Parry+Light Attack, which is a hit but does next to no damage for maximum risk.
    Enemy's should fear attacking him, and not have their mistakes so easily corrected and reset.

    4) Enemy Literally Dodging Through An Attack

    They dodge right,
    You predict and have attacked right,
    They literally phase through your axe and they land their attack. Cool story...


    5) Been guard broken mid attack

    Now I don't know if this is a networking lag thing or a Lawbringer thing, but I want to bring it to your attention regardless. I have been mid, start, or end swing, and have been guard broken many times.

    6) Renown Gain To Low

    It needs to be increased, simple as that.

    IN CONCLUSION

    He's a tanky counter character,
    whose block stance speed can be out attacked,
    whose counters are slow and easily dodged,
    Whose attacks are more a weakness than an attack due to been so easily dodged, parried, blocked

    So his defence is useless (easily dodged or out attacked)
    &
    His Attacks are useless (Easily dodged and Low in Power)

    Yet I refuse to give up on him, but please please please fix him. Ty

    I hate fighting LBs, they have good spams that can stop you. His disabler tag is spot on, but i can see where youre coming from on the counter-attacker.

    The GB mid attack is definitely a problem for me too. Im on console so im not sure if its fixed via patch since im pre-patch still. But ive noticed more and more trying to level a kensei. Ive been GBed mid unblockable top heavy flip. Its also way too consistent with bots, it seems they dont play by core game mechanics. Its even more annoying when you get GBed mid attack IN REVENGE. Where your attacks cant be interrupted anyway..

    But i also agree with the stance switching. I main an orochi and even he has trouble blocking sometimes with mixup strikes being too fast (mainly zerkers) Just tried doing the shugoki for a bit and its super hard to block a zerker mixup. Blocking in general needs to be looked at imo, failed blocks that should work, cant switch stances fast enough in many cases, and GBs while not defending.

    You are not alone. I do however trust the devs. After watching their warriors den video with the department leads they know not to just trust what people whine about. They actually look at the data per character via kills and win/loss and how they got their kills. This shows me they really look at the hard data so they wont break anything with a change.

    They did acknowledge defensive play is OP and will be looked at, That stat readouts on gear need to change, Revenge is OP and wasnt something they saw initially, Warlord and Conqs are overperforming and will be looked at.

    That video was good for the soul and i suggest you watch it if you havent. Just knowing they will address these things and admit to faults is amazing.

    I'm with you. I quit using the LB in favor for the WL just before I got to R1. Though some people will say he's viable because he can parry into guardbreak into heavy I think that is stupid as so can almost every hero. This goes the same for the parry into top light. So what is special about him? What makes him a counter-attacker? Nothing at all. Every hero can do that job.

    As far as a disabler he is excellent at that. His shove and long arm destroy an opponent's stamina but in a game where you still have all your defensive options even in a stamina-less state it doesn't matter.

    His unblockables need to be a little faster so they don't get dodged so easily. His parry into zone attack should be an unblockable too, otherwise it's a waste of a parry. I think long arm should give him a free heavy and to balance that make it a part of combo or parry chain.

    I think those changes would help as the state he's in is just pathetic. He is a troll hero for unprepared noobs and that's all he's good at right now.

    Oh and definitely need to fix the guard change speed.

    Thank you so much for taking the time sharing that. I want to look at it but I'm at work right now so I can't. It's very reassuring to hear that they are balancing the game objectively rather than just based off of flavor of the week heros and whatnot.

    Though I will be sad if the WL gets a nerf I'll be happier if they fix some of these hero imbalances. Heck if they fix LB I'm going back to him!
