Emote spam is fine. If you think its breaking your immersion, this is the wrong game for you. The emotes are no different that any other game that lets you celebrate or taunt, be it Destiny, Dark Souls, and so on.

Lets face the real reason a lot of us emote spam. Its not because we're taunting or trying to "BM" anyone. It just looks and sounds hilarious...

You keep assuming I'm bothered by it. No, not particularly any worse than it probably bothers you, but I do understand the motivations behind it. It's simply an animal looking for attention and to elevate his own sense of self. There's no deeper implication and your vague argument pretending such holds no water.

When your actions affect others, in many people's books, it's fair game for scrutiny. Their actions affect others and they know it. In fact, that's exactly why they do it because they're a dog dry humping another dog to show dominance.

Stop pretending like it's not baser animal behavior by people that are usually much less mature and more inclined to their lesser narcissistic instincts.
I'm not pretending anything, just saying that even in the case it's done simply to assert dominance on an instinctive non-intelligent level, it's still not a reason to actually consider removing this part of the game.

On top of that, my point in my response to you wasn't in debating whether having this kind of fun is right or wrong. It was that you're generalizing and oversimplifying, far from everyone uses it in the way you've described, so if you're saying you understand the motivations behind it and only bring the most plain example, you're wrong about it. Just the way you formed this post:

Players can emote spam all they want but most people envision you as a 13 year old teabagging in halo and the impression people have of me is more important than, "lol I made another human feel frustrated. I'm da best".

It's simply childish behavior of a human being who has experienced nothing in life. That's really all it is. It's the same conditions that inspire trolling, hyper narcissism, and many other problems with modern society.
seemed like you're trying to come off as objective, so I felt the need to debate your objectivity about this.

No, I'm stating my opinion and referencing ideas. Not everything I say is a declaration of observable fact. Here's an idea to those offended at my generalizations -- grow the **** up.

I'm not antagonizing your generalizations because they'd somehow be offensive to people. I'm doing that because they make a discussion impossible as you're dealing in absolutes and defending a point that's inherently weak as it can be simply countered by a single example.

Spamming emotes is basically the tbag of for honor.I would love to see a cooldown added to emotes, just like on quick chat...but I know it won't happen. It isn't a smart move for Ubi to get rid of this toy for kids.

True. He looks like a parade band flag-girl, spinning that giant club around.

It's as much of a BM and disrespect as the emote spam itself, don't you find it "a bit" hypocritical? I don't think a lot of people defend this behaviour, they mostly don't care too much. I'm just one of those that attack the behaviour of people like you. If you didn't need that emotional release, you wouldn't be downplaying so much.
Do I consider myself a better person than some Raider who ganks and then spams hip thrust emotes? Yes, I do, because I'm not a 13-year-old who thinks it's funny to try to piss people off. I think people who act like *******s SHOULD be called out on it and shamed for their behavior. To remain silent on it or to defend it is to actively encourage such behavior. It's the same as raising children. If children misbehave and you don't punish them, they'll keep misbehaving.

Now, granted, nobody actually has the authority here to punish anyone except Ubi and I'm not advocating that they punish people who emote spam as that would just be stupid. However, the OP asked a question and it has been answered multiple times: because it's ******* behavior.

It's one way to look at it, it's a poor analogy though. It'd be a really great way to look at it if they were actually 13 y/o's who you were responsible for, but a reasonable amount of them are actually grown people with their own personal standards for what's funny, and just because they differ from yours doesn't mean you should shame them for something or try to bend their ideology towards what's more usual to you.
