Let's not pretend we don't know the intention or the mentality behind doing it.
    I dislike it.
I'm not sure people convey what they think they convey when they do it.
Do they think they are showing how pro / cool / superior they are or do they just want to troll / trigger people?
    /shrug
Either way, I just think 'what a ****'.

Feel free to complain about it on forums if it makes you uncomfortable, but don't try to make it seem like it's a fact.
Ah yes, the mental gymnastics we do to justify our crappy behavior.

No, we don't let people have fun in their own ways in a society. That's why we have rules, laws, etc. And not that it even bothers me but it's universally considered being a bad sport. You go to England or China there's nobody there saying, "yea, we emote spam to show respect".

Just stop. People want to be aholes? Fine, be aholes. I really don't care but the problem is people want to be aholes AND get attention for it (like the op), and argue that, "g golly, relativity states that my behavior isn't objectively bad". If you're going to be an immature ***** that's causing frustration to players you're not actually in conflict with, then do it, and have the balls to not pretend like you're anything else.

And it's totally within your right to dislike it or have any other active opinion about it, but you have to accept that it's within their right to have fun in the ways they choose to have. Yes, it annoys some people, and it might even be one of the biggest reasons for them to consider it fun. BM exists, and you might either hate it, embrace it or stay neutral about it, it mostly depends on the type of your personality. So just co-exist and don't try to discriminate the other type.

Don't put words in my mouth (or fingers, whatever). I'm not trying to say it's not an аsshole behaviour. I'm just saying that it's totally acceptable and it's not objectively any "worse" than yours. The problem with this is there're people who spam emotes, they understand how you feel about it and still do it, and there are people who try to actively go against it, and they don't even want to try to understand the others. Both kinds of behaviours are equally toxic to the society.

And why the hell did you start dealing in extremes? Yes, there're rules and laws, but they're mostly covering situations that threaten your life, freedom, possessions or personal space. And most importantly, it's a real-life society, don't compare it to a game. And stop using "childish" as some kind of negative label, there is no "law" on people having to "grow up". It's just another type of humor, if you find it offensive, keep the exposure at the minimal levels.

    Exactly.

Been playing Shugoki of late, and they can't as far as I can tell. Was playing Warden earlier and if you time it right you can actually get his sword to fly behind his back to his other hand. Still slower than the thrusts, but fairly impressive looking nonetheless.

    Shugoki has an 8/10-looking stance-switch.

Stellar logic, having an opinion on something = rage quitter.

I didn't equate having rules and laws in a society to mean it is objectively wrong. The etc was meant to include social ideology and social cues. Meaning, in a society there is an idea of polite, sportsmanship, etc -- so, your "let people do whatever they want" doesn't work in any context. Not in video games, real life, etc.

You keep assuming I'm bothered by it. No, not particularly any worse than it probably bothers you, but I do understand the motivations behind it. It's simply an animal looking for attention and to elevate his own sense of self. There's no deeper implication and your vague argument pretending such holds no water.

When your actions affect others, in many people's books, it's fair game for scrutiny. Their actions affect others and they know it. In fact, that's exactly why they do it because they're a dog dry humping another dog to show dominance.

Stop pretending like it's not baser animal behavior by people that are usually much less mature and more inclined to their lesser narcissistic instincts.
