The pvp will only be as tactical as the players make it, meaning that it will likely devolve into asinine run and gun antics.

A little disappointed with the 4v4
Was hoping to get the clan back together. We used to wreck on gamebattles back the day on graw. Have to see how it goes and if it works, cool. If not then get ubi bump it up to 8v8

And here I am hoping we can start the rounds 1v1 so me and my buddy can just try and snipe each other.

It being a "Classed based" 4v4 I assume it will turn into everyone wants to be the sniper class and if they cant they will rage quit.

Looking at the video it seems that the PVP map was just a small section of the map, the question is just how small. But at least all the camoflage will actually be effective and if the maps are small draw distance shouldn't be an issue, which knows the plan might be to introduce more PVP based games with more players at a later date, will be interesting to see how it all unfolds.

There should be game modes with bigger maps and longer match times. Should take advantage of the large map....

It could be something like Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising's "Infiltration" game mode where a team has to destroy an objective (or multiple) in a 1 square kilometer map or eliminate all the enemy resistance within 35-45-50min time period.
8v8 at the bare minimum optimally 12v12 (maybe 16v16)
Would have restricted spawns/only a set number of spawns per player/team or just one life depending on difficulty settings.

Something like Rush in Battlefield could be interesting not exactly rush but something with a series of objectives in a somewhat linear manner.

Escape and Evade game mode where a larger team searches for a smaller team in a large area, (6v12 8v16 etc...) evading team wins if they remain unfound after a certain time or maybe if they get to a extraction zone (so long as it was random in such a way the other team couldn't easily know where it was going to be given the point they spawned in/number of options of the extraction zone locations)

CSAR Combat search and rescue game mode a team has to infiltrate an enemy area and destroy a downed aircraft after which they have to escape the area.
Hostage rescue a team has to rescue a hostage/High-Value Target and escape the area without being killed or captured. (In this game mode, the defending team can capture the attackers if an attacker surrenders they can avoid being killed

HVT game mode an attacking team would have to kill a high valued target that the defending team was protecting. The HVT could either be in a secure compound/building or on moving from one place to another. Game mode verity could have the attackers either have to kill or capture the HVT the defenders would not know which one it was. If it was HVT they would have to extract them while evadeing the enemy team like the hostage mode.

For the 4v4 (hopefully upped to 6v6 or 8v8 or just have those as options)
Have a game mode where each player has one life and there is an attacking and defending team that has to defend or destroy 2 objectives within a certain time period on smaller maps (essentialy something like Search & Destroy, Rainbow 6, or Counter Strike) forced game chat would be good as well.

On bigger Game modes/larger teams have a chat system where all players are in game chat within each 4 man squad, and with the press of a button they can chat with any of the other squads.

    More people better more more
Just because people haven't made a game with large amount of people that solves the communication issues doesn't mean that it could not be accomplished. On bigger Game modes/larger teams have a chat system where all players are in game chat within each 4 man squad, and with the press of a button, they can chat with any of the other squads. Other ways to get people to work togeather better would be limiting spawns or making it one life per game, If a player wants to do something dumb they sit out the rest of the game when they die or make a good system to kick people given they have met certain criteria of failing the team in some way...

No, I fully expect and demand that they embrace the unmitigated stupidity of a 4v4 team death match in an area so big that you'll only ever stumble upon an opponent by complete accident. :-P

Sort of like playing a game of hide-and-seek in an area the size of the state of Oregon.
