Ok so i know that there are many, MANY posts about this problem. But i am willing to share both my opinion but also options to fixing this problem.
lets start with my opinion.
If you buy a game like for honor where it's mostly PvP focused but also has PvAI for other means, Games are meant to be played, granted, there are time where you'd need to AFK for a minute for say getting a drink, or going to the restroom. but my question is, What is the point in spending $60 for a game that has characters you can level, if you're just going to Purposely AFK to "farm" exp for said characters? Now at that point i'd say that's not only wasting your team's time, but it's also wasting you're money. you bought the game to play the game, not to....NOT play the game.
Now i have a couple of ideas of ways to prevent this, but first let me mention, YES report said exp leechers for Ubisoft will deal with them, if mid match just go to the pause menu, then look at the scoreboard under the "match" tab to have free control to report said player doing this leeching. doing it this way makes it easier to report since these guys know that they will be reported after the match so they will just leave before you get the chance, so reporting mid match will make it much easier. now for the ideas.
Ideas:
Option A. reset any and/or all multiplayer exp for all heros of the reported offenders thus forcing them to play the game to truly earn their exp.
Option B. Add a system that i call "play the damn game" where any and/or all AFK exp leechers with a minimum of 10 score and 0 kills and a match playtime of at least 1 minute will get only 25% of the exp that active players get (I.E active player: 1000exp = AFK: 250exp) that will also force them to play the game to earn their share of exp. as for those who join a match that ends and because of it they have no points nor kills, they still get the same exp the active players get due to said player joining in progress.
Honestly option B in my opinion would keep AFK players out of the spawn, yes they can just as easily move to a boosting zone but at least the boosting zone helps boost points for the team to win and since some of the bots go to capture those zones it will also force said AFK players to have to fight said bots to keep the zone, thus increasing their kills, thus "helping" the team.
Let me know your thoughts on these ideas. (Same goes for you Ubisoft reps, let me know your thoughts. :P)
I didn't realize how bad AFKers could be until coming across two peacekeepers running in circles in our spawn zone on river fort dominion (I assume the thumbsticks were rubberbanded). Me and my buddy could not win with those two *******es doing nothing of value, and this was against the friggin' AI.
yea it's pretty bad in PvAI dominion right now. i just hope Ubisoft take my ideas to thought.Originally Posted by Felis_Menari Go to original post
Problem is that you are getting SOME XP and SOME STEEL for NOT SCORING AT ALL. This is why farming works. They are AFK, not killing anybody, not damaging anybody, not killing single soldier, not capturing single zone, not ressing anybody, not taking single buff. Why the heck they have SOME XP and SOME STEEL for this? It does not make sense at all. Players with 0 score should get 0 experience and 0 steel. It is the most fair system and would completely stop this issue, because there is no reason to exploits when you are not getting anything.
I agree that this is quite a problem and needs to be handled though they have some more urgent issues to handle first.
Majority of players still play PvP, or they try at least.
I was wondering, why these people simply don't disable matchmaking and AFK 24/7.
I was curious and tried to AFK a round with matchmaking off!!!
My toon running in circles my bots lost with no support from me.
150XP and 20steel.
But then when I let the timer keep running to auto enter the next game, I noticed, there is not timer when selecting your hero for the next round.
So that was it.
There is a timer there too, when playing with humans.
So I assume, the people rubberband their controller, go to work/school and come back hours later, with XP and steel + items collected.
No idea what would be a good solution, but Ubisoft better have some.
Who know, maybe even activating a timer on matchmaking off matches would help and leave the AFKers to themselves.
Well, I think it's annoying enough to deal with the technical problems we bought for full pice from Ubisoft, seems fair to expect, that the rest of the fun part of this game doesn't need to be destroyed by the player base. I feel really lucky already, if I am able to even complete a match. But having two "rubberband bots" in my team while losing the match.. not my definition of the already limited fun we can suck out of for horor atm.. am I wrong?Originally Posted by Eviler-RO- Go to original post
