Anyone else think using hidden stance on Nobushi feels inconsistent to use?

At least for ps4, getting Nobushi to use hidden stance feels so clunky. Most of the time I either just switch stance, use it for a second before going back to normal, or actually get it work as I want to. Using other hero's who require a similar input to use abilities that require holding the stick back feel way more fluid and responsive like the Warlord's and Conqueror's. So I don't understand what I'm doing different that makes using hidden stance so inconsistent for me. Is it a bug or just me doing something wrong?

It does feel a little weird. It's not like using defensive stance. It seems to have some timing issues with transitioning animations into it.

As it is. Hidden stance is very unsafe to use. It's a high risk/ low reward move. It could be useful agains stand alone attacks. But i'd like to test it agains. shugoki/s demons embrace and lawbringers shove. All depends now how much her recovery is from the hidden stance would take. As a Nobushi main user I honestly don't use hidden stance. and many Nobushi who use it usually get crapped on their face. It says that she can "cancel" some attacks to hidden stance but is more like "you can use hidden stance at the moment X attack is done."

Believe it or not. I think Nobushi is underpowered. Yes she works well against many of the cast but she has a lot of matchups where your advantages are nearly 0. Assassin's make fun of nobushi's slow stance change speed. She has highly regarded as an OP character but it was mostly because people didn't knew the games functions well and there wasn't any deep knowledge. Once players discovered that stance have different speed on charaters. And that she has one of the slowest stance change it was a game changer. On the beta and early days of the game many of the assassin class approached me with extreme caution. Now they come at me full force and i have to be ready for that 1st parry. Because the 1st hit lands, good luck.

Yeah it seems to be a tiny little sliver of our bottom analog that actually activates Hidden Stance, which like you said, makes it incredibly inconsistent and clunky compared to other classes that have similar move-sets( IE Warlord, Conq).

Edit: It would be great to finally get a blue post regarding this, as Hidden Stance is a pretty big part of her unique kit and not being able to use it properly is game-breaking.

It's very finicky. Most of the other characters I play their "special" doesn't require you to perfectly apply pressure in just a precise motion to ensure you're in the stance. If I go into Hidden Stance I feel like I'm trying to balance a cup on a plate on a ball with a dog. One move and it all comes tumbling down.

Lol exactly, not sure how we are expected to just flick the stick back for a quick dodge. Gotta make sure you have your protractor out first to ensure you align it properly

From some testing I did after reading your post, I found that if you hold your guard stance in the down position it tends to activate no matter how your R3 stick reached that point.

It appears from testing, when using a controller that relying on holding the stick in the down position is the most reliable way to cause the stance to activate. The only issue I notice with this particular method is it doesn't completely fix the consistency of feinting your attacks into your hidden stance. But this could be because of my newness and not the method itself.

It's too slow. They top players can avoid Hidden Stance easily 9 times out of 10.

This shouldn't be the case if your using it to dodge moves with high stagger built into them. If this is happening to you, then your using Hidden Stance 90% incorrectly.
If they are locked in an animation, it does not mater if they see it coming. They have to feint you out. But again, it creates mind games where both sides are making complex decisions which is what Nobushi wants and aside from the stamina loss, hidden stance is safe.
