Honestly, even if they did nerf that, who the hell actually tries to complete a storm rush into top light ever? That's like saying I'm MrMeseeksParryMe...

Maybe it was versus a max debuff Warden in 4v4 or something.. Then this could be possible, or maybe You are a little slow with the combo.

This combo sucks. Some guys do this then spam GB and top attacks until one is dead. I once fought a guy over 10 times in Duel, just to find a way to break this stupid spammy combo. Over and over and over and over and over again. When I finally found a way to avoid the second GB, he abandoned the fight. Really mature! He probably thought he was pwning me and continued doing the same crap and I was experimenting and learning how to counter it.

Regardless, it's a really ****ty combo, abused by almost every Oroshi. So I hope they did nerf it. They should do the same to the shoulder/shield/headbutt attacks of Warlord and the other Knight that also spams it until we're dead.

can't you block the zephyr slash?
And where is the second guard-break in that combo?
stormrush is very predictable and easy to parry. High risk move should give high reward if they land, otherwise they are unusable.

Also, if someone is bad at countering gb, I see no reason not to use it. What makes it boring with oroshi is that the only good follow up he has is double-top-light. My raider (main) can at least do light / unblockable / pummel ? / 3 different pushes / heavy or feint into mixups

Some of these Orochis do the Rush, Guard Break top light combo and often go into a GB top light, GB top light loop. The Rush, when badly done, is indeed easy to block (though the parry is a bit more risky to pull off and the blocking is much safer, especially considering that landing the Rush is how they enter their spammy loop). But sometimes they're good at it and pull the Rush when I'm mid something and I fall on their trap. Their attacks are very fast and cancel mine. And they're at close range and it's almost impossible to avoid the GB. When I detect the pattern my only possible move is pulling back on L-stick and hitting Light Attack to step back while poking to inflict bleeding. Keeping a distance is the only way to get through this. Damn Orochis are messed up in close quarters.

We Nobushis also have an unblockable push, which is the kick after a light or heavy attack. But the Orochis even dodge that crap! Not because they predict it, but simply because they spend the whole fight side-stepping side-stepping, side-stepping!

The funny thing is, the Orochi was my main in the closed beta and it was only at the end of it that I discovered the Nobushi and loved it. I have tried going back to the Orochi but I can't do anything that these bastards do to me

The answer vs orochi is to play defensive. Oroshi is a good counter-attacker but is terrible at initating fights.
You have to get better at counter-GB, it is really not hard (at least on PC, but should be doable with a controller). Being at close range doesn't change anything, except you panicking.
If you are fighting a dodge-happy oroshi, just use feints into parry (if he attacks during the dodge) or into GB (if he only dodges - he can't counter GB during a dodge).

Once you master that, the oroshi's only way to Attack is... top-light and zone Attack. Everything else is too slow and can be parried or blocked. Keep your guard top, and be ready to defend the zone. If he uses zone, remember that he'll be very low on stamina. One parry and you make him bite the dust.

I enjoy fighting them, it's a lot of feint and mindgames, because they have no safe way to Attack you, but if you fail your Attack he'll punish you hard. I actually tried playing him this week and it's loads of fun. But his offensive toolkit is very limited and I got most of my damages out of ennemies mistakes.
