How they would play out is up to Ubisoft since I'm really not sure how the two new classes are going to pan out. (IMO a counter attacker quarterstaff wielding Man At Arms would have made so much more sense than the Lawbringer's entire counter attacker concept).

The maul wielding knight in moderate plate would be a slow but hard hitting easy class similar to the shugoki.

Jesus Christ man, the poleaxe is a quarterstaff, the poleaxe was used in techniques like the quarterstaff except that the poleAxe/polehammer is a weapon or war. A quarterstaff.. well for walking.

There were indeed weaponized quarterstaves back in the medieval ages. And while there was no recorded massive use for quarterstaves during wartime, other evidence states that they were used for duels and/or training exercises. We don't have enough historical evidence that states otherwise. So combining the man at arms lower class leather armor look with this weapon makes sense from a historical standpoint.

The "pole axe" in For Honor is more akin to a Halberd than it is a medieval Pollaxe IMO. Even though the term "pole axe" can be loosely used to fit a halberd description and vice versa, I see axe blades in game such as Vogues, Bardiches, Swiss Halberds, German Halberds, etc with various rear fittings such as flukes, spikes, counterweights, etc. No one is really wrong here by definition.

Quarterstaff yes in Duells, for fun, non Lethal, maybe sometimes lethal,
If you look at for honor every class has weapons of War that were used during a battlefield. Thats the concept of for honor.
