    How to fix Guard Break

GB abuse is breaking the game. A game with such fun mechanics is being reduced to GBs all the time!

I believe GB was intented as a way to take an oponent out of his defensive state! Meaning that an attacking character should not be punished with a GB after having his attack blocked or parried! he was just ttacking and is not with his guard up! (therefore he should not be able to guard or have his guard broken!)
What I mean is.. the combat already creates it´s windows for counter..(not very good windows as it is) but if every window is exploited by a GB for maximum DMG than there is no need or place for the combos in this game! just get an opening, do a GB, than a heavy. (wich is what most people are doing now) it's boring ugly and throw away half of the games intented gameplay designes!(the cool combos)

blocking an light or heavy attack or parring a light attack should leave your oponent open for a light attack.

parring a heavy attack should leave him open to a heavy. (the state we have now is that a parry leaves a window for almost nothing, sometimes you don´t have time to land even a light attack! so I can see why people would abuse GB in any given situation)

GB should only be available as a starter. can't be used mid combos.(a character that is taking a combo is not guarding! and he should have the oportunity to guard the next attack if he is quick enough. this also prevents looping GB, heavies)

GB should not be used as a counter after a blocked attack. there are already too many counter options.(since his oponent was taking the risk of being ofensive a free GB should not be another of the already vast list of options for payback)

Most characters should not be guard broken/grabed while dodging. because they are not with their guard up while dodging! they can be hit by an attack. BUT, assassins and characters that can deflect ( or maintain a defensive stance during dodge like the valkyrie) should be able to be guard broken during dodge! This seams more than fair. Gives most classes the ability to get away from quick characters but not that much (because most dodges are very short) and the characters with more speed and longer dodges can be interrupted before running away, or preventing them from spam dodge attacks. if you think about it spaming dodge attacks is playing over defensivelly so it should be punished by a guard break!)

This simple concept that GB should only be used against over defensive characters should fix it and keep the game alive and make it fun again!

Dude... Guard breaks are damn near useless right now... Are you really getting punished that much by guard breaks that you literally just don't even want them in the game? LOL.... I'm not trying to be mean but I have to question your skill level if you want all these nerfs to a mechanic that is already easily countered....

These changes you listed will never happen. They just released a patch that made guard breaks even easier to counter than they were now. This other stuff you are suggesting is not even necessary and honestly pretty ridiculous.

Also, I (KIND OF) liked your idea about parry into heavy, but it wouldn't work because of the length of time it takes for a heavy to hit someone. For that to work, the parry stumble animation would have to be extended....by A LOT.

If blocking light attacks allow everyone to go for light attacks, the game would just become even more defense than it is now. Not to mention, I think some warriors can already do this because of the speed of their light attacks. I'm sure a peace keeper can block a Nobushi and then counter with a light attack easily.

Yeah.. I know about the GB fix.. knew it would hit PC but did it hit consoles already? Anyway it is easy to counter GB if it was taken back to the beta state. this pretty much fix GB abuse.. but won't prevent the game from being boring still if someone keep spamming making you spam gb counter.

Also it's just a metter of logic and as I said it is to give combos more power. the way things are now people will still try to GB after everything ( after a hit, after a block, after a parry) instead of trying to go for the combo! (because GB grants you more sure dmg.)
but hopefully people will see that GB is useless and stop trying it all the time.. and end up using only when it's actually due.. (meaning when a character is being over defensive)

I partly agree with this idea, since I have experienced an issue on PC where no matter when I press my scroll wheel to counter a GB it doesn't work 8/10 times, I thought well Im pretty **** at this so I went and played against some bots to practice, but the issue remained and it was inconsistent, i tried pressing at varius times and it didn't work so I asked my friend who plays with a controller but on PC and he said that he had the same issue. Now for the most part this isn't a big problem, but some classes like kensei will beak my guard three time and do and unblockable heavy after and there's little I can do there. Countering a GB mostly doesn't work and if I try dodging they still catch me with GB. The worst are the lawbringers, most of the players I played against use just one move, the unblockable guard break with stamina dmgs into a pommel strike, and thats a vortex combo and they do it until you're dead. I saw one guy defeat 4 players with that one move as noone can counter that GB.
