After getting almost to 6 rep with my Lawbringer, I have finally decided to change to a different character. Initially it was fine and I had hope that if my reaction speed got better to where I could really parry light attacks eventually I could make the Lawbringer shine. Sadly after going into a duel with a good Conq, and parrying multiple of his light attacks, I came to discover parrying a Conq's light attack is not a guaranteed overhead attack, he can just side step it and punish. One of the hardest classes to open up and the only thing I can rely on is a parry light attack, especially now after the guard break change where people can spam it, people who know how to guard break counter can do it a lot easier.
Everything about fighting the Conq just brings to the surface how gimped the Lawbringer really is, Conq has a shield slam that if it knocks you into an object free heavy, Lawbringer shove you get a possible guard break, even a shield slam results in a free light if you get hit by it, yet the shove you can only try for a guard break. In some instances the shove is actually liability, like blocking a zone attack from the Warden, its a free guard break but because blocking goes straight into a shove for the Lawbringer you don't get that chance. Same with blocking Conqs light attack, I dunno if its still the same but I remember in open beta if you blocked a light you could get a guaranteed guard break, Lawbringer shove cancels that out.
Before I went in and saw my "guaranteed" overhead heavy on light parry get dodged all I thought the Lawbringer really needed was a faster guard stance change, just to give a Lawbringer the ability to actually utilize his kit better against the assassins, not to mention if you think logically "I know this is a game but still" A person swinging a weapon in one direction should not be able to attack in a different direction which attacks have momentum put into them to do damage while blocking you do not put any momentum into it unless you are trying to parry it. So why is it that attacking stance change is so much faster.
