The window is shorter with this beta gb, but there is no timing element. You see the gb symbol, you spam your gb to counter. I like this version better because the window was HUGE with release and occasionally unreliable against certain opponents due to ping/p2p issues. I would like to see the counter GB window halved in the future so that teching a cgb takes foresight and reflexes and bring it in-line with other comp fighters.

I like it better than release, but neither is perfect. I'm sure they know it still needs work and will continue to tune it.

so wait... are there now infinite strings of guardbreaks happening?

from the description of the "fix" it seems like they're saying that being caught in a guardbreak will no longer prevent you from guardbreaking... so there are no longer any guaranteed guardbreaks.

am i misunderstanding something or did they really just make guardbreaks irrelevant?

No, there are still auto gbs in all the same situations. There is no longer a "coinflip" now when two people do it at the same time. The first person will initiate and the second will counter when you both do it head up, whereas before the patch it was literally a coinflip as to who got the gb off. The second person got hosed before even if they inputed gb ALMOST simultaneously.

Is it finally hard in a fair way, or is it way too easy?

I'm hearing from the exact same mouths in this thread:

A. Praise for the GBC timing window being shorter.
B. Reassurance to worriers that it's the f***ing EASIEST THING IN THE WORLD TO DO long as you just spam it after seeing that symbol.

Does anyone else see the irony there? Something can't be easy and skillfully difficult at the same time. Something is wrong here.

It's literally opinion. The window is quite a bit shorter, but you CAN spam the button now (more than one click was auto-fail before). It's going to make the occasional gb harder to counter and the "I know two combos that include a gb and Im gonna spam them all match" easier to counter since you know they're coming, which is preferable imho, but that's all it is...opinion.

At the highest end of pvp, most gbs are still gonna get countered, except for guaranteed gb punishes.

Oh okay, so it's still pretty much an issue, but at least now -I- can counter guardbreaks.

I didn't know that you'd insta-fail your counter if you happened to already click it at the wrong time. lol
