After this nerf the only thing u can start the overhead unblockable is after smashing against a wall. Nobody will let u get a sidestep hit and another light hit to initiate the 3rd attack for Unblockable. U need the heavy strings to pressure the enemy. Or they should give the kensei the opinion that his chains dont stop when he get blocked by during a light attack.
After this chance ur unblockable is nearly useless until u smash someone to the wall ...
U never will connect this 3 hit combo on a Avarage-Good player.. .
Side dodge + light counts as one move. 2nd move was top heavy (the one that was removed) but was pretty fast and 3rd and final the top heavy unblockableOriginally Posted by BigJUbi Go to original post
yes i can't pull of the move any more to! This is what made the Kensei still a descent character!

here someone claims only the timing has changed....
The whole chain is gone with the swift top heavyOriginally Posted by Perfecto-Ignori Go to original post
The chain starts with a Dash *right* + light into a top heavy that you must input as soon as the light connects. It will then instead resemble the unblockable instead of the normal top heavy animation. It appeared to come out faster as well. Basically this was a better option when trying to mix up opponents because you could cancel the quicker top heavy into a grab which gave the opponent less time to react with a parry cancel. Meaning you could either get more grabs off from this trick or you could let it rip and most people would only attempt to block it which lead into a unblockable mix up. I'm sad to see this go especially since many classes can whiff attack and still block the side dash + light which many times is a free grab for them.Originally Posted by BigJUbi Go to original post
The top heavy is certainly slow and it's basically like the berserker unblockable side heavy. By this I mean that it's a strong move only when the mind games are played right.Originally Posted by DrinkinMehStella Go to original post
Use the transform mixup to turn that top heavy into uninterruptible side heavies and after training the opponent to those, you can let the top heavy follow through and you're more likely to not get parried.
Other than that, throws into walls are basically your best bet. The upside is kensei does have some of the highest light attack damage in the game. Against some classes it's just better to chip their health down.
I understand what u try to learn this guy with ur opinion but do u rly want to tell us the oldest trick of the kensei is working on ur opponents ?Originally Posted by BigJUbi Go to original post
I cant say when i met some people who let me unpunished with this soft feint top into side heavy. Thats tactics against New players or blind players.
And this Most dmg light attack is not the whole truth. Mabe the top light but which class can u as kensei handle in the top neutral game? A warden? no he will crush and vortex u to death or spams u with his lightning fast zoneattack to death. same **** on the most of the other characters. Warlord/conq, shugoki, raider And the asassins nobody of them is dominated from the kensei Top stand. Nobody.
Fact is: i think ubisoft doesnt know how to handle the kensei in his role itself. what should he be good for? Just sealclubbing? U never will get some chains on a advanced player doesnt matter heavy or light, u never will get the UB heavy without smashing them into a wall. u never will outperform a player with the same skill as u in another class who knows the strenght of his own class.
What the kensei rly need to have is some feature like i dont know maybe not interruptable light attacks on block (warlord and conq can still do this) that would make him not too strong but gives him much more opportunitys to pressure the enemy without feintinglike a moron and 100 times in a row.
This easy to learn hard to master is just another description for too weak. While every body can play their class to be succesful, the kensei has to work to be succesful
