Yeah, Valk has really bad stamina management so you will get 3 full combos at most. Maybe with gear she can vortex if she maxes cost reduction but that makes her attacks even weaker. I agree that she seems fine.Originally Posted by Varicose_Veins Go to original post
You realise that not one of the moves you listed in your OP was changed this patch? The heavy attack, bash and sweep all come out the exact same speed as they did before, and deal the exact same damage? Nothing you're complaining about here has changed at all.
The only difference is that the Shield bash can be chained into a light combo now, and if you're worried about a single light 18-damage attack option then something is very wrong. ALl of the moves remain completely punishable - dodge them, and enjoy your free GB or Heavy attack during the recovery.
Basically, no. Valkyrie still has nothing over the Warden, who hits harder, costs less stamina and can cancel mid-move into another. Learn to dodge her combos and punish her for them, exactly as it was before the patch.
Funny thing is.....this "Vortex" is easily dodgeable...after her second attack, just dodge, you know its coming.....Originally Posted by CaptainGelo Go to original post
i love how everyone is throwing the "vortex" word around, when there only is ONE in the game, which is wardens shoulder-bash because you CANNOT counter it on reaction. no other class has that.Originally Posted by Scoregasms2286 Go to original post
most have spammable combos, but none of them are a vortex.
also: if you cant dodge a valks sweep, this is 100% a learn to play issue.
a warlords headbutt spam is harder to dodge out of than a valks sweep as the warlords headbutt has godlike tracking, while valks sweep can be easily avoided despite it having a 180° angle animation.
I'm sorry but that's just completely misinformed and wrong. Valkyrie does indeed have a vortex. After you get a sweep off somehow, which there are many ways to do so (even against the best of players pre-patch), you can combo into a guaranteed heavy into a guaranteed shield charge which can then be 50/50 vortexed into a leg sweep or a guardbreak. The 50/50 with warden is just his charge hitting instead of the cancel into guardbreak.Originally Posted by SethUnleashed Go to original post
And yes I know you can counter both of these by rolling backwards. The thing is, these two combos eat up your opponent's stamina, and they might die because of it.
Correction, the shieldbash after the heavy is definitly dodgable and very punishable!Originally Posted by Eyaside Go to original post
Also telegraphed and can be easily avoided.
