So how do we reconcile their claim of listening with the fact there isn't a single measure in tomorrow's patch to redress the emerging defensive meta or the issues around the Top 4?
I fear by the time they realise the reality of what needs addressing only a hardcore rump of players will be left.
I feel you. I think enough reasonable posts have been made pointing this out (Given there is 100x the good ideas in trash). Lot's of work for UBI ahead, I think they can deliver. I wish more resources were allocated towards the core game in lieu of a campaign and marketing. Gotta pay the fight-game consultants, engineers and designers more money. But hey, those corporate dudes are good at maximizing profits, and at the end of the day it's a business, and they did what they thought they needed to do.Originally Posted by Varicose_Veins Go to original post
The game is a lot of fun (But broken), and arguably the birth of a new genre. Props to UBI for making it.
Because these issues aren't going to be fixed overnight. This isn't a matter of one attack dealing more damage than it ought to. Some of these problems are part of core hero kits, things they were built with in full. You can't just yank parts out and expect it to work, you'll likely just take the "top 4" and shove them to the bottom, to be replaced with those beneath them.
I'm far from being a good player IMO and I don't struggle against any character, I play a conqueror and you know what ? I almost don't use total defense because I forget it, didn't even knew it could be used as a cancel.
Just pary, simply block or step back / side step to avoid attacks and then land yours ... I see many people saying that only elite players will left, well I'm not and I'm fine with characters as they are...
I realise that re quick fix.Originally Posted by ThePollie Go to original post
But so far we have had zilch engagement from Ubi regarding the defensive meta issue. Not here in this forum, on Reddit or wherever.
Is it even on their radar?
And I think 90%+ of us agree there is an issue, the differences lie in how we fix it.
But as far as we know Ubisoft don't even know about this yet??
What is Ubisoft's position on the defensive meta issue?
... you don't get what people mean by 'defensive meta', do you? they aren't talking about using full block. they're talking about doing exactly what you just explained. Parry, block or step back/side step to avoid attacks and then counter. You are punished for attacking and rewarded for defending.Originally Posted by ZoB.Raymond Go to original post
This is Ubisoft. They'll fix the problem, not talk about it.Originally Posted by Varicose_Veins Go to original post
Maybe they'll fix it. Probably. It's a possibility, at least. But I can promise you, you won't hear a word til the last possible moment.
Honestly, I'd rather there be a "defensive meta" over a brainless attack spam "aggressive meta". Sure it's slower, so that means you need to be methodical and strategic as well as capitalizing on opportunities that your enemy presents or that you create.Originally Posted by Varicose_Veins Go to original post
