I am with you on the issues MinaX. I do however think the devs could fix it without making huge changes to the entire game.
If not the game will be unblockable mixups, parry-GB etc. to land hits. I like the warlord, but at higher levels he's just a pain to play - headbutt spam. And most classes are like that in some ways. I like the raider, because he's more free form, although his dodge->tap/GB also follow that silly pattern of defence->damage.
I think they can easily change it. Are they going to? Unlikely I'm sad to say. But this is just a few weeks in - months from now the game will just be so boring to play and we'll all just be playing like bots 😄
I'll be curious to see how it plays out. It's true that in most of my 1v1s, no one really gets a GB off unless you do it while they are dodging, or after a parry. If it's even easier to tech, I wonder if it'll have much of an impact. It honestly might not, just make it less difficult to figure out from the get-go.
What they are fixing is if you both go for a guard-break at the same time and let's say your opponents hits .005 Ms before yours and his is the one that registers you cannot currently tech or counter it. This is what they are fixing that is all, no timing window just if you both go for it at once. You still cannot spam. If you push too early you get punished try the tutorial. If you spam or are in a Dodge you still get punished can confirm this from beta behavior. I play with guys better than I am and they help me with heroes I have issues with and spams of characters. Right now, you can’t counter a guard break during the attempt, and must wait until the grab animation hits you to counter. In the beta, if you saw it coming, you could easily counter the guard break as your opponent was attempting it.
It still doesn't help the current meta which is pure defense because that situation was one of the ways that you could get a good punish. Alll you need to do to avoid that situation is not always be so desperate for a guard break or just not be so nervous and trying to hit it before they do. I just played a match vs someone in a duel and he literally countered every single attempt I threw at him for a guard break because he just sat there and waited. He had warlord and there was literally no way I could open him up. Now, in a match against a person like him, I wont even get the few lucky guard breaks where I pressed it before him and he pressed it after. Guard breaks will just be even more rare than they are now, and for a person like Lawbringer, that is a very bad thing.
I just think its sad that so many people were complaining about this mechanic, and the devs actually thought it was something that needed to be messed with. The only people who were complaining were the ones who were always fishing for guard breaks and they just got beat to the punch.
No it's also legit ones that where wanting a way to counter when they had an over defensive opponent that was already a pain at higher gear like a warlord or conqueror but I see where you are coming from on the dual scene . This game has more than one mode and I put that in for the person agreeing with you saying you could button mashing, they obviously didn't know what was being changed.
You can't really make one crowd happy.

Well decent players do not counter every GB. Most yes. Perhaps at least 9/10 GB will be countered. Still that one GB getting through can decide the fight. One button should not have that power.
But no matter what people think about GB at the moment - it cannot be removed, nerfed a lot or changed significantly, because then people simply won't be able to land hits to an extent that will allow fights to end before the time limit is up.
The core is broken and GB is a one button gameplay emergency fix.

In high level games, successful GBs were already the exception.
If the system is changed, they will still be the exception.
I what t firs effect, is low snd mid level gameplay, that suffers from enviro kills and GB abuse.
The top 5% might not even feel a difference but the rest will see more fighting based gameplay.
