    Guardbreak Patch

    Guardbreak Counter (All Heroes):
Currently you can’t counter a guardbreak during a guardbreak attempt. This will be returned to the previous behavior seen in the Beta.
Can someone explain what exactly they are changing?

Before you could counter GB when you saw the GB icon, when enemy started the attempt. Now you have to wait for them to touch you.
Surely everyone is used to new way by now, dont know why change it.

The patch will fix 3 situations that result in you getting hit with a guard break that you can't counter. They are as follows:

    1. You go for a guard break but the enemy also went for a guard break a milisecond earlier hitting you during your animation
    2. You miss a guard break (hit the air because the target is too far) and the enemy hits you with a guard break during your recovery
    3. You react too fast to a guard break attempt and hit the button too soon, before it actually hits you

After the patch i believe it'll be possible to counter gbs normally in these situations.

If they do this the game is dead... I really hope thats a joke.

I've been watching high level lawbringer gameplay and 80% of the match is 1 guys trying to shove and catch the guy slipping with a guardbreak, and the other guy usually breaks it no joke 100% of the time. The only time a GB is landed is if it is in one of the 3 situations you just named, among like 2 other situations I can think of.

They do this, and there will never be any guardbreaks landed in any fights unless the person is pretty much mentally handicapped, or sleeping. Its already hard enough to switch guards and land a raw hit on someone. I swear to god if they change guardbreaks to make them easier to counter smh.... I will never buy another UBI game again. This game will be nothing but assassins sidestep baiting and trying to parry each other.

You're wrong. There are many situations where the GB is guaranteed, such as after a parry or certain enemy attacks, or during a dodge, and high-level play revolves around these. The current "spam constant GB to win on luck" is not a good strategy to encourage high-level or competitive play. The GB change will help mitigate this button spam, while leaving guaranteed GBs timed correctly untouched and still powerful. Which is a good thing.

    After a parry? LOL.
Naked dodges in high level play? What for? Why would you ever do that without frame advantage?
I can understand making teching the naked GB easier, sort of, but taking out guaranteed GB punishes after honest to god mistakes is just, like, wow.

The game is currently kind-of, sort-of broken, I hope Ubi devs realize that a bad patch catering to people who don't know what they're talking about might literally turn it into a total trainwreck. And if it turns into a total trainwreck and players start dropping the game out of frustration, it simply won't be possible to recover them, even if future patches are actually good. I hope I don't have to explain what this'd mean for queue times in a month or two.

guard break in its current state is a complete and utter ****ing joke. At this point just remove it from the game until its fixed.
