For Honor
Mechanic Changes:
Heavy deals half damage if blocked (chip damage)
-> This will reward more the deflects and the parryings instead of just blocking mindlessly
Everyone gets a reflex guard like the assasins
-> More skillful and it reduces the stupid turtle meta which is really really ****ing disgusting to watch and to play against (this will really help the eSport For Honor community for more entertainement rather than to watch two people starring at each other to see who will decide to attack first to get parried)
Unblockables pushes on Revenge Doesn’t make people fall
-> That’s just ******ed that it does that. Like really? Push, Heavy, Push, Heavy, Push, Heavy. Specialy when the push like on the Warlord tracks people down.
Unblockables shouldn’t be able to be parried
-> Why else would you introduce the dodging mechanics? The unblockables for Kensei, Lawbringer, Raider and Shugoki are slow and can be reacted by a light attack, a zone attack or even by a simple dodge
Conqueror:
Can’t block while charging
Valkyrie:
Increase the light attacks damage by 20%
Berserker:
Able to combo a guard break with a heavy attack
Heavy attack on blocks only deals 1/3 of the damage (chip damage)
Orochi:
Light deflects deals more damage than a heavy attack
-> This makes a difference between the parries and the deflects. Not only that parrying removes the opponent’s stamina, but you can follow up with a guard break then a heavy attack. Without this change, why would you even use the deflects instead of the parries? Why would you even put deflects in the game?
Peacekeeper:
Fix the guard break triple stab damage to be equivalent to a heavy attack damage.
-> Most of the characters can follow up with a heavy attack after a guard break. It would only be fair. Plus, if a peace keeper decide to only deal 1 or 2 stab (either because they miss their stabs or they want to push the opponent, it would only deal 1/3 or 2/3 of the full damage.
~ If you wonder why the Peacekeeper’s deflect shouldn’t have a change like the orochi, it is because after the deflect light attack, as a Peacekeeper main, you can follow up with some mix light attacks to continue and punish your enemy.
Shugoki:
Fix the double hit unblockable
Lawbringer:
Able to follow up with a heavy attack after “The Long Arm"
~ If you have any other rational suggestions or comments feel free to add more ideas! -
1) - Conqueror would be OP with his fast heavy attacks
2) - Reflex guard doesn't make it harder to block, it only makes assassin more vulnerable to feinted attacks, which still usually get blocked. This change will only make harder a lot of abilities and special attacks that require a specific guard positioning. Classes that have faster one directional attacks like Orochi will become OP because now they can only spam top lights which are super hard to paryy and impossible for a heavier class to dodge.
3) - No, unblockable pushes on revenge make people fall down in order to give more offensive capabilities to defensive classes during revenge so they can put more pressure on the enemy. If you are trying to attack a revenging player in 1v1 you are just making a mistake. But I agree on that tracking on some pushes needs a fix.
4) - some classes rely on parrying and enemies that are overconfident with their unblockable should not be awarded. And while I wish that Lawbringer's unblockables will be viable in 1v1s one day, I also understand that Raider will be too focused on his unblockable.
5) - yeah, let's just pretend that the whole shield model doesn't exist; didn't you call dodge 'simple' a few sentences ago?
6) - they are already buffing her by adding more options in her ability combos, which in my opinion is better than a simple dmg buff
7) - you already can do a guaranteed side heavy attack after a guarbreak, if you are talking about his mini-guardbreak after deflecting a hit then it will make it too good since mastering deflect instead of a parry will take about an hour. You also get a guaranteed top heavy if you push your opponent towards the wall
8) - deflects look cool and add a larger moral pressure; to be honest, your main complain makes sense.
9) - can't argue since don't know enough on the topic
10) - yes, they need to fix this bug
11) - as a Lawbringer main I want to say that this isn't the best way to improve him
Sorry if I seem hostile, I just don't like the whole 'change defensive meta' movement - I just don't see that many defensive players.
At my level (mmr/87% winrate) all the opponents I play against are always the same player or even "pros" (if you don't believe me go watch the top streamers,
we always end up playing against each other or the same players). That said, by my experience and the others, the top level plays are "defensive" or in other
words we call it the "turtle". It consist a player to always wait for the other player to attack so that they can parry and get a guaranteed heavy attack. At our
level, we have this amazing reflexes and we can pretty much parry anything, some even parries peacekeeper's zone attack do you believe that? So this is to
say that my ideas are to change that stupid meta because it makes the game boring as hell and because of it, if the meta doesn't change, the game is going to
die. It's just not fun. If my opinions and experience are not convincing enough, go on the streamer's channel and ask them their opinions. I guarantee they will
say exactly the same thing.
