Why is revenge just a zerker issue? It's a game issue, not just a problem with zerkers, who I don't even think benefit from it as much as some other classes.Originally Posted by Peligrad Go to original post
It's predominantly an assassin issue which I am fully guilty of taking part in as an assassin class. Orochi's, Berserkers and PK's can build a heavy Revenge gained by injury build which is a nightmare in Skirmish modes. We can take a few hits, block one more and get back to back Revenges. Where as a heavy will mainly gain revenge on defence which isn't bad but if you are playing against a good t4eam then they will just guard break and heavy attack you so you can't build revenge.
I've been on both sides and I agree it needs a fix whether it's a cool down on revenge or something
Sadly zerker doesn't have much if we're talking about high level play. I persisted with him until almost prestige 2 before I finally shelved him, which sucks because I like the idea behind him. Unfortunately infinite chain, his unique trait is useless at high levels, it's only useful for destroying noobs. He does the most damage when you string combos together which just doesn't happen against decent opponents. The only way you can make him work is by feinting constantly, but this can be done with most classes. His deflects can be handy for ultimate punish damage and his side attacks work okay against average players, but in the end, he's too much work for me and I just get frustrated trying to play him against good opponents.Originally Posted by Avean Go to original post
Can't do that, he has stagger on every hit so your guard change is gonna be delayed.Originally Posted by J_Hamm Go to original post
chain is still viable on higher bracket, you just gonna have to use it on different wayOriginally Posted by Avean Go to original post![]()
i have tried to make this style of play work and there is one thing i can tell you: it doesnt at high level play.Originally Posted by Barzah Go to original post
as soon as people see that you play with lots of feints, they just wait to block your lights which shuts you down hard.
you also cant use this sort of play against certain classes.
warden and PK for example have faster attacks and will hit you first (****ing zone-attack and light attack spammers).
i have managed to kill people from 100 to 0 with one chein of feints and lights but it rarely happens.
what you see in that video is either footage against lower-skill players or selected wins but that is not how berserker gameplay looks like in higher skill play, i guarantee you that.
well idk about your "high level play" standard is but those people on vids are on prestige 2++ (sometimes even like 10) and based from their reaction (parry attempt), they are not those type of people who relied on gear to win a fight (Also rosario pv is a good warden, you let him free for couple second and he will rekt you inside out). Again, on those video i already said about option + an advice to CONTROL YOUR CHAIN which doesn't mean you have to keep feinting after 1st light. Sometimes you can let it go, sometimes you can go for gb, or other times you can just keep doing light spam followed by heavy feint in a middle. In the end, it's all about mindgame, and you can't let your opponent know what are you going to do.Originally Posted by SethUnleashed Go to original post
Also if you take a really good look, sometimes i time my attack couple milisecond faster than my opponent. yes that is intended and it counter even the fastest attack out there (probably not PK ZA but you can still outgunned warden za with that). Yes it's a frigin gamble, yes method is technically a suicide run, but it works, while at the same time lower your opponent will to retaliate. Plus this method is pretty much aggressive, which is make it fun to watch, instead of those "turtle style" gameplay which outmatch watching the paint dry in term of boredom.
So im really curious about what does berserker do in your "higher skill of play" looks like. Pls do enlighten us
The problem with Berserker is this:
1) He can spam light attacks going left and right and left and right endlessly, and most characters literally cannot switch blocks fast enough to even deflect them, and trying to parry without having the block stance change only results in your character bending over and asking for it.
2) If he GBs you, his zone attack with get at least 3 hits in on you before your character can respond and start blocking some of the attacks. He can spam it over and over and over again, and you can't get away because GB will track you. This is horribly bad after a parry because you cannot stop GB at this point
He's like, the slowest of assassins, you can parry his light attacks more reliably than others. "Most" of characters are like 3, out of the 12, and lastly it's just a lie. I'll understand that a PK doing this is a problem, but if you make a classic inifinite chain with Berserker against decent people they will destroy you.Originally Posted by KotoKuraken Go to original post
If that man GBs you and then uses zone attack he's going to have what, 30% of his stamina left? That's not spammable by ANY means man.Originally Posted by KotoKuraken Go to original post
