You can dodge without getting parried. After my dodge attack gets parried I dodge without an attack and parry the parry attempt.Originally Posted by ZenBearV13 Go to original post
I've fought against good conquerors and have been beaten and have won. The mistake people make is believing that the tactic that they used, which didn't work, is the tactic that is suppose to work.
Indeed you can dodge attack without getting parried if the Conqueror fails to parry. You can also choose not to dodge attack and parry their parry attempt. Both scenarios require the Conq to **** up. If the Conq doesn't **** up, you can't punish a Shield Bash after a dodge without an unblockable attack.Originally Posted by Kharneth88 Go to original post
If your opponent doesn't **** up you can't punish him. But everyone ****s up so it doesn't matter. Your argument can't seriously be that if an enemy plays perfectly he's unbeatable. No ****.Originally Posted by ZenBearV13 Go to original post
If you're fighting a conquerer and you dodge attack his shield bash and he parries you and the next time you go to dodge the shield bash and you don't attack, you just dodge, and he parries you and you parry his parry attempt and the punish him than you're playing well. If this same thing happens but the second time he doesn't parry attempt you than you're playing against a god who can foretell the future. Submit yourself to his greatness because you've met your match.
Only attempt a parry if the red attack indicator lights up. No precognition required.Originally Posted by Kharneth88 Go to original post
You're right about one thing though. This really is a pointless debate.
Feinting heavies to punish parries is an extremely common tactic. Why do you think it's so common? Because people fall for it. But you're right, if you're fighting an enemy who doesn't fall for it than it won't work.Originally Posted by ZenBearV13 Go to original post
Can you feint your dodge attack? If not, then feinting is irrelevant to my point.Originally Posted by Kharneth88 Go to original post

You can punish it with a shield bash of your own as well.
Very often you'll see two high tier conqs just dodging around each other trying to get the other to commit to a bash so that they can counter with a bash of their own.
Makes the match up not terribly fun to play tbh.
But you can't feint dodge attacks...Originally Posted by Kharneth88 Go to original post
And conqueror can option-select his parries anyway...
Well it is an argument because some classes can beat an opponent who never makes a mistake by forcing 50/50s. Even the best player still has to guess what a Warden is going to do in order to beat their vortex at 0 stamina. The issue with the Conq. shield bash is that, outside of the three or four classes that have a 50/50 or an unblockable of their own to counter with, Conqs who only shield bash, block, and guard break cannot be killed. They have no reason to try a parry because they can just defend and keep fishing for a shield bash and kill you with free lights. Worst case scenario they get a tie.Originally Posted by Kharneth88 Go to original post
Being predictable isn't a weakness if what you always use has no counter-play or punishment. There's a reason Conquerors see so much abuse in tournaments, right now.Originally Posted by Aidames Go to original post
