Hello Ubisoft - Team
First of all a big compliment for the huge world you created. BUT having a huge, nice world to explore and to play around is not the only thing what makes a game good. Especially not if it is meant to be a "tactical" shooter.
A really good game is a combination of a conclusive story and world, a good gameplay, an interesting missionstructure and in the case of "tactical" shooters a high degree of realism. Unfortunately Ghost Recon Wildlands doesnt use his potential to be such a game.
In the following text i will dicuss some of these aspects of the game and i' ll try to explain why some details are really important for the quality of the game and the feeling its creates.
Conclusive world and realism
1. Dead bodies dont just dissappear !!
- its completely unrealistic
- it ruins the feeling that you and your
squad won a hard fight because
there is literally nothing left
- it rather makes more sense
to be able to carry and hide dead soldiers so that your presence is not detected. Its not "tactical" at all if I can kill anybody whereever i want and it doesn't play a role at all. You have to plan your tactics much more carefully if you cannot just leave every dead body in the middle of a place without setting of an alarm.
3. Weapon variety
- its pretty unlikely that all or most of
the sicarios use the same weapons/
weapon types
(some may use handguns, shotguns a.s.o.) not only smg11s/ scorpions and sometimes assault rifles but all of the same kind - thats unrealistic and boring
- the same point concerning the mounted weapons it makes no sense that every jeep has a superexpensive minigun mounted.
3. Reload animation
- there is no difference in the animation or reload speed when the char. reloads a empty clip or an halfempty clip - that's a shooter basic because your reload speed, under realistic terms, is shorter because u dont have to chamber a bullet.
4. Night vision but no googles at all
- what is that a new technology where u have night n thermal vision in your lens??? Not very realistic !!
5. Bullet drop off
- the bullet drop off if far to strong
its cool that this feature is in the game to create some realism but then it should be at least halfway "realistic".
Gameplay
1. Cover is crucial for " tactical" gameplay in an 3rd person shooter but the cover system doesnt really work that good - a cover system like in "The Division" would have been better in my opinion.
1. Driving cars feels sometimes too squishy and needs to be tuned.
2. Flying a helo is supposed to be fun but flying in Wildlands is horrible. Its too slow and not intuitive at all. At least the small helos should be much more manuverable and the camera should not move its position all the time. The lack of a reticule for helos with weapons makes it basically impossible to hit a target.
3. For the single player there has to be more options to control the AI- soldiers and a system to change their loadouts.
4. No ability to aim with mounted guns
5. Why is the Super Shorty a own secondary weapon it makes more sense too make it a sidearm
6. You are not getting more ressources for redoing missions - so its senseless to repeat them
7. The game needs some rocket launchers like RPsG, LAWs or AT4s or Stingers to be able to fight helos more effectively
8. LMGs need the ability to mount better/stronger scopes
Mission stucture
1. Some of the missions are very repetetive and the really exiciting ones like clearing the comm. posts are too small or short.
In the end some bugs i found
1. The mp7 appears without mag in the gunsmith
2. Picking up the Bren 805 and toogling the sights doesnt work as its supposed. The Panorama sight magnifies and the magnifier makes it smaller.
