I Just had a wonderful idea, I main Lawbringer but I don't use throws a whole lot, but when I do its usually further into a round, in otherwords I've gotten my opponent down to low health and were practically neck and neck.
In short I use throws like a finishing move.
Thats where I got the idea to give the entire game a fundamental throw reduction factor that slowly reduces at intervals. Full health characters cant be thrown very far, but half health characters can be thrown normally, and at ten percent health your thrown for twice the distance. This will make people think before throwing and limit there overall moves, at the same time it will encourage players to depend less on the throwing playstyle, and improve upon their defensive game.

Gonna be Honest here your idea is not to bad. but the problems with throws aka the guard break system is as follows
Problems with the guard break system
1. Guard Break Counters are the main problem
To Start countering the guard break system has a major flaw. within its design. from the start of the guard break the player being Guard Broke ends up mashing the button to counter the guard break. Currently when this happens the guard break regaurdless of how fast or how many times the counter to the guard break is pressed it does not play out. Sure you could go into advance practice spend countless hours practicing countering guard breaks. when it comes to actual pvp it dosent work period. this is due in fact to the window frame of timeing to counter the guard break is to small. From start to finish of the guard break the player being guard broke has about 1.5 to 2 seconds to counter it.
2. Guard Breaking off Unblockables.
For the most part Guard Breaking off unblockables is another problem with the system. 90 percent of the time players will feint there unblockables canceling the attack. This is fine and a well worthy tactic to apply to use the guard break system nothing wrong with it. but it does lead to problem number 1 as mentioned above. the ablitiy to counter it isn't there. this is of course minus the raiders Stampede Charge, Warlords Crashing Charge. and Valkyries Shield Tackle Number one problem this has led to is the spamming of guard break.
3. Guard Breaks Interrupt a dodge.
Gonna be honest have no idea where this idea came from or how it wound its way into the game. but for the times ive been in an open area and not pinned against a wall only to have been guard broke when in mid dodge. simply dosent make sense. ( I can understand if I dodged the wrong direction and made a huge mistake but 9 times out of ten ill dodge when the guard break starts and ive been grabbed) this purly an exploit with the system that needs to be addressed and fixed asap.
Whats fine with the guard break system
Ill next state whats currently fine with the guard break system.
1. Guard Breaking off parrys.
Gonna be honest after playing some matches and getting an understanding of how it works. I do agree if stunned long enough and having seen it first hand and your left open to a guard break yes it should happen ( my views on it have changed in the last couple of days) ( including this morning)
2. Guard Breaking off feints
Again having gained an understanding if your feinting your opponent and he falls for the guard break buy all means it should happen. ( again gained an understanding of it. ( there is no wrong with guard breaking off feints)
3 Guard Breaking over all is an effective system
Gonna be honest Guard breaking is an over all effective system. my views having changed over the last couple of days to this morning and gaining a true understanding of how it works I see nothing wrong with it other then the the window of timing and the fact that dodging can be interrupted from a guard break.
My Renewed Suggestions of how to fix it.
to fix these its a simple fix realy all that needs to be done is as follows.
1. Increase the window of timing to counter guard breaks from 1.5-2 seconds to about 3-4 this ensures the player even if button mashing can counter the guard break. this also means that if a player who does NOT pay attention to being guard broke and was caught sleeping at the wheel means they in turn made the mistake of not countering guard break.
2. Make it to where dodging cant be guard broke. again if a player dodges even if its a guard break they should dodge. weather it be a light attack or a guard break. my only thing being is if the player screws up and dodges into the light attack ect.
In Closing this is my renewed views on the guard break system and how it works. and what needs to be done for fixing it. Its also my final post on the guard break system and I now leave it up to the devs to fix it. Good luck all and keep practicing and mastering the gamew
