I don't care in the slightest
I only played it for the Steel
The degree to which the Story mode sucks is inexcusable
I didn't hate it, but it's a bit forgettable
I liked it.
Well?
EDIT: For the record, I really enjoyed the campaign. A lot of what people complain about in regards to it didn't really effect me because my brain just sort of... automatically filled in gaps in any omitted details as I played through it. I guess my experience as a writer helps me with that. The reason why the title and Poll question seem so negative is because I was under the impression that more than half of the community disliked the story.
Again, if I could change the title, questions, options, and attitude of the post, I would. But I can't. I was under the impression that most of the community disliked the Story Mode. I COULD have made it biased in the opposite direction. I would have liked to do that.
Honestly, after seeing none of it in either beta I was worried about it but I thought it was pretty damn solid with the highlight being the Viking campaign do to the extra flourishes it has that break up the normal combat.Originally Posted by Archo-Vax Go to original post
Wow. I liked it a lot, actually. Beat the whole thing on Realistic. My favorite part was Apollyon, anything with her in it.
Why do kids these days have the hardest time comprehending that other people might like different things, and that your point of view isn't the only point of view?
This poll should have allowed more room between 'liking it" and "not liking it.'. It liked it in the most minimal sense of the word in the sense that it could have been so much worse looking at other crap games these days... but I do expect better from UBI.
I would have wanted 2 more missions for each chapter. Felt like they made it almost a short as they could. Wasn't a long play experience at all even on realistic.
Also the story got progressively worse. Knights had the best chapter which the most interesting plot and developed characters, Vikings were so-so and felt like they really lacked personality at some points and somehow the leader came off as the most flat..., Samurai were even worse in that regard and didn't even seem to act or talk Samurai enough anyway.
Spoiler!!:
Who is the villain now anyway that Apollyon dies? I don't like how the story doesn't even seem well set up for continuance and the ending is obnoxiously vague. Too much finality.
I want new missions in expansions for the new classes. This story and world has so much potential and the ending made it feel like it is never going to get explored and the entire premise of the game, eternal war, was apparently going to end according to the ending... So apparently we fight for 7 years and thats it? Just a regular war? Thats all the faction war see in multiplayer is? Doesn't feel as epic as the opening Intro sorry and it never will! "1,000 years of wars" by implication producing the best warriors the planet has ever known."
This was supposed to be a world bred and defined by war... Instead it looks like it USED to be that world... at the beginning Apollyon observed everyone seemed a weak shadow of themselves and Apollyon just brought it back to a tiny glimmer of the chaos that used to be for centuries. We never even saw the real thing I think. 7 years of wars ins't the same thing as 1,000! In reality we should have only seen he beginning of what was an increasingly epic second 1,000 year war brought about by a an embodiment of war!
Cheated story wise then just like we were cheated on the peer to peer connection....
Btw; how do the knights not say Dues Volt! or Dieu Et Mon Droit! at all if the Vikings are accurately making references to their pagan religion with Valhalla and Valkeryie? Disappointing omission that would add more historical character.
I guess at least LB does say something in Latin when he attacks but that is about it. Minimal.
