Thank you - thank you - thank you - for not using a hard cover system!

Thank you Ubisoft for not going with a hard cover system.

I really don't understand where this hard cover system thing came from. I can only imagine it is a console take away. This has to be one of the dumbest things in the history of tactical shooters. Why would I want to be pulled onto a wall or other cover? I completely takes you away from controlling your character. All I should have to do is crouch behind any cover and that should do it. None of that hit a button to run to cover and then hit another button to move from cover to cover or to the corner of the wall and then peek around and blind shoot. That is not a tactical shooter ... that's called a console port!

Give me peek keys and let me decide how to move from cover to cover or use cover. I don't want to be stuck to a call.

To all those people saying that the cover system is more realistic, let me tell you after having served many years in the military ... no one uses cover like you see in all these games. You actually use something called off-cover shooting where you keep at least one full arm's length away from any cover and if possible double or triple that. Now this is something that should be supported with proper bullet ballistics and game physics. You give the player back full control of the character while also supporting proper use of cover. It also lets the player decide all aspects of movement and the path from cover to cover. I don't understand that people liked the fact that all you have to do is point to where you have to go next and then hold a button and the game will run there for you. How is that fun? I also can't stand the shooting-around-corners gameplay .... that stuff doesn't happen! We don't hold AKs over our heads and shoot them over cover ... you might see some other people in the world do that but I can tell you that no SF operators do that. You don't have enough ammo for that nonsense.

So my hat is off to Ubisoft for deciding to do this despite all the hate on the forums! Thank you!

This was one of my issues with The Division. Moving was discouraged meaning everything that was not LMG or Sniper Rifles became impractical.

I disagree, either give us a traditional hard cover system or NONE at all! This weird in between thing they have now is awful

I agree about not having hard cover in the game but I do want to see better handling of weapons while crouched by objects. You know like use the wall to rest your weapon on when aiming, things like that.
