So I learned today that when Shugoki goes to grab you with a guard break? and you immediately activate revenge, it does nothing to him. You lose. WTF?

Yup. That's the gist of it. But it must be a bug. Anyone that does Anything should be knocked back by Revenge activation.

he may of had his hyper-armor active at the time. Its only removed from taking damage or having their guard broken (doesnt need to be successful gb either) and replenishes after a few seconds. If they were blocking and defending constantly to gain revenge it makes sense that the hyper armor would of been up.

Special moves like shoulder charge, shield bash, heabuttt etc aren't affected by super armor (outside of shugoki armor) or guard mode. Revenge activation counts as a parry full stance parry. Reason why GB or attacks just bounce off.

It's also way as I sated before that these moves can be done to bypass the revenge activation parry window and disrupt you. It's what can make a raider, shugoki, LB or even a Valkyrie dangerous in against someone activating RM since they can just go "nah I'll bypass your parry window thanks." Then their ally pounces on you while you're staggered.
