People are salty bcs of gb interrupts? Really?

When I didn't hit it I was always sure it was my fault for doing it to early or too late.

Just out of curiosity - I play this with an Xbox 360 gamepad. I keep my thumbs on the two mini sticks basically at all times. I need to hit X for guard break or for fending it off the moment of attempted guard break+impact.

When the afforementioned situation occurs, me swiching my thumb from stick to the X always occurs too slow for the small timeframe I have, at least if the opponent GB's and immediately continues to attack or throw. If by some random chance they fumble for a fraction of a second longer I get lucky and make it in time. But in all the matches I have had so far this occured perhaps 5 times and I play about 70% duels and I have four characters I play right now, three of which I have leveled up into the first prestige ranks. So you have a rough idea that I have fought a lot already yet I basically never make it.

Is my anticipation simply too bad? Am I just too slow for real? Do other people face similar problems when using the pad over mouse and keyboard? Or am I just doing it wrong entirely?

I had the same problem as you SerJobsalot.

It's true when you are in real fight, you keep changing your stances with your thumb, and you have to press X at the same time with the same thumb in case you are GB-ed.
The answer is obvious, I was in the exactly same case, I even tryed to re-map my controller, but this is not necessary. What you have to do is simple :

Go to solo mode, select 1v1 battle, in the options you put : | time 10 minutes | Round 99 | Damages none | Bots lvl 3
And try to select an enemy like Orochi, a character without any rush shield or shoulder back. Orochi is perfect to fight for training.

Then, you never attack, you keep defending yourself, only blocking and counter guard breaking. At start, you'll die often, but after 30 min - One hours, you'll master a pretty good defense, and become able to Block AND counter GB in a real fight. After 45 min of training, I was invincible if I never attacked.

    That's just training.

I'm a Peacekeeper and your peacekeeper tutorial on the "toxic player" thread was just great. I like the robotic voice that makes the whole thing just feel very uncomfortable and how the voice says "noob" is really interesting. My favorite part was the mentioning using your daddy's credit card to purchase the mythic set. That made me legit laugh out loud.

This video didn't really help me much as I've done the advanced tutorial plenty, but it was still worth the watch.

Guy... The real problem isn't how to counter, it's you cannot counter too fast or after a parry...

The patch corrected it. Still the video is for amusement.
