Please remove the ability to swap/edit weapons whilst out in the field

    Morning all.

I'm not to sure if the devs read our posts or understand them, if they do then they've got their hands full with the complaints that's for sure.

One small gripe I have though is as my title suggests.

I find the ability to swap weapons at will on the battlefield to be a game breaker for me. It's not going to stop me buying, but it does take away some of the realism and immersion for me.

With endless weapon crates dotted all around the maps, it's never far away fro us to go and rearm or edit load outs. So would it be possible to simply remove the ability to change weapons whilst out in the field and instead make us have to go to an ammo supply area to change anything. It's only a small suggestion, but one that would make me think a lot more about how I'm playing the game.

As it is, I can snipe enemies from afar, and then select a shotgun and go in at short range after.

That shouldn't be the case I find. You should make me stick with that sniper rifle. I chose that load out, so I should deal with the cards dealt.

Sorry to add to the complaints anyway. It was just a suggestion.

So I get it, because I agree with your thinking behind it.

But its really a simple solution. Don't use it.

A lot of the mechanics seem to be geared around convenience for a lot of people, which definitely takes away from some of what makes a Ghost Recon game what it is. A lot of this comes from it being an open world game. There's a lot more room for error than in a game that has more linear style mission and checkpoint based gameplay.

I've always been the type to adjust my gameplay around things that take away from the immersion. IE, the fast travel option. I overall hate the idea of using fast travel. It came to me the other day while playing. I was inside the Unidad FOB in the middle of the night and I realized that instead off sneaking out I could have fast travelled away. This was stupid. So I made the decision to just continue playing until I was able to get out instead of hitting the "easy button".

Is this guy serious? It's a option, use it or don't with everyone complaining about how little options there are there is absolutely no reason to have a gripe about a option.

A lot of people have been asking for this. Some of us got a chance to play the Technical Test about 4 months ago and many of us agreed that it was immersion breaking.
Having a magic back pack full of 30 weapons is ridiculous. At least for Hard and Extreme difficulties it should be disabled. Also limit Primary weapons to 1.

Many people have asked for this but they don't seem to care very much. They want the game to cater to a large audience. However they are forgetting about some of the true Ghost Recon fans out there.

If this feature is 'breaking the immersion' for you there is no one to blame but yourself, as it is a totally optional feature.

I wonder if these same people complaining about weapon swapping, still use "immersion breaking" features like, fast travel, or unlimited use of ammo boxes.

I'm a firm believer in catering the way that I play around the features of the game. I for one definitely want it to be as immersive/realistic as possible. So I personally will opt out of field swapping weapons, fast travel, and things like that. But that's a personal choice and certainly not worth complaining about and asking to have these things removed for the players who actually do want and use them.

Using it or not using it is a personal choice yes. But I can effectively just wipe a whole base out with little thought to ammo consumption or how I'm going to use weapons effectively. Snipe from a distance, then pick off mid range with a assault rifle, then switch to a shotgun, then an LMG if I want to cause trouble... I don't have to think about it, I can do as I want.

About it being my choice though, that's a fair comment. But what about my random team mates if I jump online? Will they share the same sentiment?

I'm currently running around Bolivia with a back pack that resembles Mary Poppins handbag that can hold an infinite amount of things.

Every base you seem to attack has an ammo crate inside to rearm or edit load outs, so why not just stick to using that? compromise by all means. But letting me use anything I want whenever I want without having to think strategically or stealthily effectively makes everything a cake walk.

This is a ghost recon title (though many claim it resembles far cry more), and to us old hands that remember the originals that stands for something! That name GHOST RECON is usually all that's needed to tell us what a game would give us. Much like call of duty players know what to generally expect from call of duty.

Please don't turn this thread into a hate campaign or giving abuse, simply use it as a discussion or to agree or disagree.

the best thing is that it shoyld be restructed to ammobox only for the max difficulty setting

even in farcry you coulnt do that so why in ghost recon ??? is it still labeled tactical shooter or what?
