It's funny because some of the posters who are ardently defending the poor state GR:W is in are the very same posters who are tearing the Wildland's devs a new one on the Open Beta Feedback Forum.
Hypocrite much?
Alternatively, I feel it's a case of these posters wanting a game that does what TD does, but better, yet they refuse to see GR:W is in many ways worse than TD is even if they are different types of games.
This is the main reason why I am not buying this game.Originally Posted by Pau1o88 Go to original post
I've played past GR games on PC, and console and this doesn't even feel like a GR game. It feels like one of those knock-off games that are made to leech sales off a true AAA release, IMO. However, it also doesn't feel like a Far Cry game, either, because those games have more polish and know what they are doing compared to GR:W. Far Cry vehicle physics are tuned for what the game is trying to be whereas GR:W physics feel half-finished and don't approach arcade, or realism at all. They feel stuck in this weird in-between zone that just is not fun, nor intuitive to drive/fly.
Also, It's telling how TD is having (yet again) another Free Trial, tomorrow, the 28th... The day Horizon Zero Dawn is released and only a week before GR:W is released. This speaks to UBISoft having no confidence in GR:W because why would you promote two games when one is (will be) a big brand name release for the new year?
How is driving the best way to travel in a video game when clearly the heli's are the most efficient by a country mile? Also, nothing hilarious about dropping off the side of a road only to have to spend another 10 minutes traversing the entire cliff side attempting to get back on the road. Some of us don't like to waste our time while playing - apparently this doesn't apply to you.Originally Posted by vvhorus Go to original post
Yeah you have to press R every single time you enter a vehicle. There is no option for NO radio. And what is with the LA reference? I said I don't want any music or crappy radio personality yelling in my ear especially in a game that prides itself on being tactical lol .. and once again... I see you trying to compare this to Division? Not once in my entire review did I compare the game to the Division so why are you using it to try and support your position? I didn't so the reference is moot.On PC, press R to turn off the radio. I'm sure consoles must have a similar button. Remember, you are in rural Bolivia, not L.A. I'm sure no one expects every single car to have satellite radio or your favorite Rock station. And I honestly prefer DJ Perico blasting on the radio than the constant yapping by Rick Valassi in TD...
Don't be ignorant. Please. You play on PC .. you have a mouse to aim with.. of course the shooting mechanics feel alright to you. Shooting with the sticks is bad an offers little to no feel. And how is Wildlands your first Tom Clancy game? You are on Division forums. As for the difficulty .. lol.. I already stated I started on the hardest difficulty. Quit being ignorant - it's not helping your position.Didn't see a problem myself, being the first time I ever played a Ghost Recon game. AR's for CQB, sniper rifles for everything else. Shooting mechanics were not bad, IMO. TTK feels right for a shooter game. As for difficulty, I hope you noticed there were 4 levels of it.
You're really attempting to relate 8bit games that came out 30 years ago to a modern console game? I'm done with you.. the ignorance is astounding. You were doing so well and then you get to this point with massively flawed logic and that's where I have to cut it off. I mean you can't argue with ignorance. Hence why it is bliss for some people.I wrote this in the GRW forum, after someone asked what was after the final mission:
The endgame is the final boss: Bowser, Ganon, El Sueño... Haven't you played Super Mario Bros, or any of the Zelda games?
Not bothering with the rest of your comment. Next time you are going to try and respond to a well articulated post please attempt to keep the ignorance to a minimum or just don't post at all. It's very Trump-ish to be posting opinions over someone else's when you don't even have logic to back it up.
Completely agreed.Originally Posted by vvhorus Go to original post
I played the closed beta and, quite honestly, at that point I could take it or leave it.
However, I then played open beta and I found it far more enjoyable 2nd time around. It kept me away from TD for the whole weekend. Best driving by far was jumping on a motorbike and blasting down an incredibly steep mountain. That said, handbraking a 4x4 round some of those dirt roads was a blast too.
Yes, the game has issues. It's new and it ain't gonna be perfect straight away. Hell, we're a year into TD and it still feels like a beta with the amount of changes that are coming in the name of "balancing". Your GW team should be far more controllable on an individual basis when soloing. I want to send one left, one right and have one stay with me, or split into a couple of pairs and flank some enemies. But I can see why they've done what they have. Cover could be better. And a host of other things.
But they certainly didn't stop me enjoying the game and won't stop me playing it. It will serve well as a break from TD.
I felt the same way with the closed and open beta. Yeah, the game could use a better cover system like in TD. The cover system in GRW kind of feels wonky at times, but I still had fun with the game. The best part I've experienced during the open beta is blowing up a Blackhawk helicopter with the grenade launcher while trying to stop a convoy. It was so satisfying. All I needed was just the right timing and the aiming.Originally Posted by Demonic66666 Go to original post

Chill, dude. I wasn't trying to argue any of your points or convince you of anything, just present how I saw the game. These are just opinions. We all have one, remember?
As I said in the last part of my post: you can either buy the game or not. It's your choice. Me and the friends I play with will be logging in on day 1...
I would've answered you sooner mate, but been some crazy days at work, but here goes.Originally Posted by joelsantos24 Go to original post
I'm not sure what you mean by conventional AI, but the AI is down right terrible. One aspect is your squad mates, but the enemy AI as well. As I said I played the beta for 15-20 Minutes,
in that time;
- I accidentally threw a grenade within 60 yards of an enemy, they weren't even alarmed.
- Not beeing familiar with the multi takedown mechanics I shot 1 of three grouped NPCs (my squad mates didn't fire), the other two enemies couldn't care less, granted, they had their backs turned to the victim.
- And of course my squad mates taking cover under the nose of the target...
To me, that's is terrible AI regardless of if conventional or not.
Regarding gameplay I guess that's a matter of opinion. I found the movement to be weird as hell, nothing smooth about it. The camera position felt off too. I probably didn't play enough to get a feel of it, but the cover system, if there is one, seemed non existent.
I don't know why yo are talking about GTA here really. The fact Ghost Recon is supposed to be a tactical Shooter makes good AI so much more important. I have a hard time taking it serious as such if the AI is so dumb. I guess I'm a fan of a tiny bit realism as well, maybe that's my problem with the AI.
Never tried Future Soldier.
In the end I'm glad I got to try the game, saved me a couple of bucks in the end.![]()
