Does anyone know if there is a review embargo for this game? Likely the day of release?
I'm not sure if Ubi realizes this but allowing companies to review the game well before release - shows they have confidence in their product and know reviews will help boost sales.
As opposed to embargos which serve no purpose than to prevent potentially bad reviews from influencing consumer's decision to buy the game on day one.
(Horizon Zero Dawn for example already has numerous reviews available despite being available on the 28th)

I agree with your general point, but this open "beta" goes a step beyond allowing reviews without embargoes.
We get to actually play the game and decide for ourselves, rather than relying on reviews.
I guess the things we might get from a review are information about how long to expect it to take to complete the story. Or if there are some shortcomings in some skills or items not available in the "beta."
Having said that, yes, not having an embargo does increase the positive perception of a game in gamers' eyes (providing the reviews are decent).
So, if Ubi is confident reviews will be good, it would be in their benefit to have media copies out there and not have an embargo.

True, though not everyone will be able to enjoy/partake in the beta. Having official reviews to help make your decision is nice to have sometimes.
I tried playing the beta but have too much trouble with the servers (despite changing my NAT, DNS and MTU settings as per Ubisoft's request when I couldn't play Siege) so I uninstalled it.
Here's hoping the final product is decent !
