I keep hearing this over and over and over again. That the story is somehow "inexcusable". That it's a complete failure. HOW, and WHY- might I ask?! Yeah, sure, it may not be a masterpiece. But it's FAR from intolerable, or a disgrace!
I don't know about any of you, but I was invested! I found all of the characters (at the least) likable, and I genuinely hated Apollyon by the end of it!
Look- try to demonstrate to me WHY the story is bad, and I'll concede. But all I've heard so far are lazy complaints and substance-lacking cries of "non secutor!" and... well, whining, to say the least. And I'll bet you that the thing they'll shout the most is that "you're just denying because you don't want to admit to wasting money!".
My only response to that is "screw off, you miserable cave! You don't even know me!".
For me the story wasn't bad, just forgettable and an afterthought. Characters don't really have any motivation, the reasoning behind everything is a bit weird, and the biggest thing is that almost all the objectives from Knights to Samraui is all the same. There isn't much variety to spice things up and make it interesting. Mostly a game of elimination with cut scenes.

“We built the campaign so that if you bought the game just for that, that you would be satisfied even if you never went online and played multiplayer. It’s intended to be a full experience.” (in case u need the source of this https://www.vg247.com/2016/09/29/for...ll-experience/)

The Division:Originally Posted by Archo-Vax Go to original post
A story of a highly classified sleeper agent unit and their attempts to bring order to a post-apocalyptic New York city.
But then again, Division has a story
Not sure how this proves anything about the story...Originally Posted by Massive.D Go to original post
They don't have motivation? Really? You can't make a GUESS? Alright, then-Originally Posted by Namdead Go to original post
The Warden: traveled to Ashfield in order to lend his blade to a worthy cause. Got more than a bargained for when he was sworn into service to the Blackstone Legion, and ended up regretting all of what he did during said service. In his own words, he took an oath (presumably upon becoming a "Warden") to fight for peace, and yet he felt that he was swindled into causing more conflict and bloodshed by Apollyon. Instead of protecting Ashfield citizens from Viking Raids, he ended up slaughtering people throughout a nigh-on defenseless Sverngard, and instigating a famine.
The Raider: Presumably became a Raider in his time "In the mountains", heard about how his people were tearing themselves apart, became a part of the Warborn clan, and subsequently went a a quest to reunite his people and whip them back into shape. A bit of a "Tiber Septim" kind of guy- had a vision for what his people COULD be, and wanted to do everything in his power to secure a suitable future for the Viking people. Pure nationalism, really.
The Orochi: Obviously, got locked up by the emperor for speaking out of turn. It's hinted that his eagerness made him get out of line, as seen in the first cutscene of the Samurai campaign. So, he was imprisoned for a year or two, until his Daimyo, Ayu, and two of his friends broke him out, due to the keep being assaulted by the Warborn. So, out of a love for his nation and empathy for Samurai citizens, he goes on a quest to kick the Warborn out of the Myre (Ayu stopping a decade-long civil war from happening, in the process), and set about finding the true source of the entire conflict. Apollyon.
Most of this stuff can be derived from a tiny paragraph. And you're saying that the characters have no motivation? Sure.
And what, you can't do the same for For Honor?Originally Posted by Massive.D Go to original post

There. Get rekt.
