Open Beta Deaths w/no Explanation? Potential Bug?

    Hey there,

So I have had some really weird experiences where I am unsure if they are bugs or not and was curious if anyone else has had the same experiences. I am calling them a bug just due to no true explanation being available. Essentially my character will just drop dead; no known shots fired in my directions (2/3 instances), no enemies visible, my AI teammates are right by my side with no adverse reaction and just heal me right away. I also play on hardest difficulty so it is easier to die.

1st experience: I was in a shootout, took 1 round (screen didn't even start to fade as it does when you are really hurt) to my character, took one of the high end sport cars, and then just started zooming through town and made it to the highway. Out of nowhere, dropped dead. I had not gone down during the firefight at all, so it was my first time going down. Car did not blow up - it actually only had light damage from me driving like an ***. Basically it was like I had a heart attack from driving this high end car in Bolivia...lol

2nd experience: Cleared out an outpost to get intel in the new region, Unidad came in as backup, area was called clear so I went to go up an exterior staircase - drop dead. AI teammate on my side heals me right away, no shots were fired after I dropped, no comms. I get up, look around, do not see anyone, continue to the second story of the building and then the sound indicator of an enemy spotting me goes off, and a unidad officer scaled the tall wall on the opposite side of the street to run at us. Maybe he "shot" me, but I really doubt it as there was no line of sight.

3rd experience: In first region, the side mission where you broadcast the radio signal and defend the antenna. This is the only time I feel I was actually shot but it was absurd. I took the high ground in the building overlooking the antenna and my team and I killed all enemies that initially came. A second wave-ish came (singular vehicle) and I kind of just sat back to see how the rebels would fight on their own. Then I suddenly just died and all that I was able to guess was for some reason the enemy AI on the street (below the straight drop of a cliff) decided to look up, fire a round into my face, and then resume fighting the rebels. Felt a bit like an aimbot script that took over when the direction of the enemy AI faced my way even though we were still in an "undetected" state at the top of the ridge.

Anyone else seemingly to get the reaper's scythe randomly?

I don't know about the first two, but in previous releases when playing that Op to guard the radio, the obvious overwatch is the hill by the church. Perhaps too obvious though; we often found the enemy AI shooting us in the back after coming up that hill.

Yea I had actually known there would be AI coming from my 6 from the closed beta (when I did the open beta it said my save file was corrupt so i had to restart everything) so they were taken out before they even saw me, and there are no other foot patrols the remainder of the side mission up there (unless you really just let the firefight drag out and allow more and more reinforcements to arrive. I learned this toying around in the closed beta).

The odd part though was the cartel was primarily hidden from my view due to the cliff face while in an active shootout with rebel forces. If you are on the ridge looking at the radio, cartel directly below to the left of me, rebels further along the street to my right. And they came roughly 10-15 seconds after the place was a ghost town since all enemy AI were wiped out very quickly.

It could be argued the first wave radioed positions, and while in a defensive stance a cartel member took an opportunity to fire up the ridge as covering fire so other members could return fire on the rebels...but...yea. This one certainly did not align with the other two mishaps where enemies were not around, but it was kind of a god-like move on the cartel's part since we were not engaged.

Happened to me twice flying a helicopter. I was flying away from the landing pad and was paid a visit by the reaper for no apparent reason.
