    Cover System?

IS there a cover system in this game? Like when you're next to a wall you can press a button to hug that wall for protection like other games do? This isn't a complaint I'm simply asking incase I'm missing it. Thanks

    Good morning,
there is a cover system, but not a sticky like the Division or Future Soldier.
Its an "Ease into and Ease out of" cover system.
Its similar to Metal Gear but an improved version.
It has a buffer system, so your not actually hugging the cover/wall/obsticle,
once you use it..you will see how natural it feels.

    thanks

Yes there is. It's a "soft" cover system though, meaning you run up to a wall, building, etc and automatically will go into cover. I myself wish it was the Divisions "hard" cover system. Much better in my opinion.

They probably opted for a softer system because we're dealing with a lot objects as they appear in nature, round, like trees, tree stumps and so on. It works great in The Division due to the geometry. I will say though, I'm getting tired of peeking around a corner, having my crosshairs squarely on my target, and still shooting the door jam in this open beta.

Ya for me the cover system seems good for avoiding enemy fire and peeking around corners. Doesn't work well for actually leaning/shooting around corners (or over options).

I find it very difficult especially when I'm on a roof crouching behind the ledge. When I walk up to it the ledge doesn't seem much more than waste high, but then I can't seem to be able to shoot over it as if I'm some 4 foot tall agent.

I prefer the cover system in The Division. Your character really "slams" into cover, and it feels substantial. You feel secure in moving around, aiming, and looking around corners. You don't have to worry about leaving cover accidentally. It's just a great system for gun fighting.

The cover in this game is too floaty, too loose. Trying to use binoculars or aim over cover doesn't work very well either because your character doesn't seem to raise up enough to see over the cover.

Not a soft cover fan. But I can understand how the geography might make a sticky cover system difficult to implement in this game.

Its a passive soft cover system, and I like it much better ten the Divisions. This is the old school way. and it works very well.

I've liked it so far, though it's been pretty touchy - sometimes I approach something and go into cover, other times not, and I'm talking about the same object. Most of the time it seems fine, though. We just really need a way to aim around corners.
