    Crusader help

So I'm about ready to give up on conqueror but before I do I thought I'd ask for help. I don't have any issues with classes other than assassins. But seeing as 90% of the population plays them, it's starting to get too frustrating.

My issue is fighting dodge. Shield bash is easily side stepped, trying heavies is just pointless, and lights just seem to leave me open to guard break which is damn near impossible to counter unless the rng gods like you at that moment. And I try and just wait to parry, but then they end up GB if I get it once, even though cant seem to punish parry anyways.

So I guess my question is, as a conqueror what do you do against people who just continiously side stop dodge everything or back step straight into GB?

Patient and block/counter gb. Whiff them when you think you can or just shieldbash to taunt them. After sometime they will decide to attack and that is your opportunity to win.

If they can punch through your defense, thats because your skill is not good enough.

Shield bash has enough recovery to block their next attack or counter guard broken. I use this against Orochis and Peacekeepers who want to get a cheeky side attack in, from my experience their side attacks are unsafe for the Conqueror so you can put that Superior Block to work or parry/GB and/or counter attack with a heavy. Same goes with beserker.

Against the rest of the cast, shield bash is going to be the bread and butter of all of your combos. One trick I recommend is charge a heavy, once close to them, cancel by dashing forward -> shield bash -> light attack to get damage in. Most parried attacks can be chained into a heavy IF you heavy from the same direction you parried from. But if you're too far away from a character say a Nobushi, parry them then quickly chain forward dash -> shield bash -> light attack.

Also remember this, heavy attacks can be blocked into uncounterable guard breaks. Use walls to the fullest extent possible.

Don't spam lights after shield bash. You use it, then you see if it connects and if it doesn't you you wait for them to dash attack you and parry it, or something.

Also don't forget about the Riposte Shield Bash. Fast little bugger attacks, you guard with C and perform a shield bash by pressing GB. This makes the Conq leap forward more so than with a regular shield bash and usually cant be dodged as it will hit the opponent while they're staggering from the block. Works more often than not.
