There are 4 Heroes/Classes for each Faction, Samurai, Knights and Vikings. There is also 3 Game modes available 1v1 Duel, 2v2 and the most action packed 4v4 Dominion Game mode. We have listed the Best For Honor Heroes for 1v1/2v2 and what players are currently using in the 4v4 game-types.


Best Heroes In For Honor
The For Honor Tier List displays the Best Character Ranking for each faction of For Honor Classes using a ranking system. S-Tier has the strongest, while B-Tier holds the weaker options.


1v1 Duel – 2v2 Brawl

The Best Heroes in For Honor 1v1 Duel and 2v2 Brawl game modes, these characters have a clear advantage in a duel format.

S-Tier Warlord - Warden - Valkyrie - Peacekeeper - Conqueror

The Best classes in For Honor 4v4 game modes, these character picks excel in a fight where they need to burst an enemy or fight in a outnumbered battle.

Best For Honor Heroes: Attackers

Berserker: Like his name, suggest this For Honor Hero is full aggro. One of the Best For Honor Characters for DPS, due to his ability The Dance of the Paired Blades attacks being uninterruptible.
Orochi: Orochi is an Assassin samurai class with strengths both in Offensive and Counter Attacks, making him an excellent hero to start playing in 1v1 Duel and 2v2. Being a strong all-around class we have placed him as one of the best hero in this For Honor Tier List.
PeaceKeeper: Is ranked as one of the Best For Honor Characters For 1v1 Duel – 2v2 Brawl. This is mainly due to her mobility and ability to attack immediately after dodging an attack. She can apply bleeding effects for some serious damage over time.

Best For Honor Heroes: Defenders

Warlord: One of the main reason warlord falls into the category of the Best Character In For Honor Hero For Defense is due to his Black stance. This allows him to block any attack (aside from guard breaks), which he then can follow up with an attack for guaranteed damage.
Conqueror: One of the Strongest Shield heroes with the ability to interrupt heavy and light attacks

Best For Honor Character For Beginners
( Easy To Play | Overall Balanced )

Warden: This is hands down the most well-rounded choice, he is also ranked as one of the Best For Honor Classes For 1v1 Dueling and 2v2 Brawling in-the-game. Guaranteed attacks after guard breaks, shoulder bash stuns, and a solid zone attack.

Hmm... i dont agree with many things, but Raider worst in 4v4? If you duel there, then maybe, but look at skirmisher, Raider its one of best character there. First he can catch ppl that fight other ppl, carry ppl and throw ppl from edges and second his zone unblockable attack do great work where you fight 4v4 in one place (what in skirmish happen all the time), cuz its hard to parry or dodge it when someone else is hitting or GB you. He suck in duels, i agree, but when there is crowd of fighting players he is a beast.

Favorite thing about this post is how you recognize heros will be better or worse depending on game mode. However I don't agree with a few things:

~as far as duels/2v2s go I don't agree with the rank on the conq. he's really strong.

~I'd consider peace keeper to be the best when it comes to pure offense. she's got the fastest attack in the game, her bleed applies a LOT of pressure, and she'sgot the tools to burn people quickly while staying highly mobile. something the other 2 assassins don't have.

~I'd say the warden is the strongest hero in the game bar none.

imo the top 3 heros that are consistently good are warden, warlord, peace keeper. But really warden should be in a tier of his own. and PK is barely up there compared to those 2.
Raider is actually pretty strong but his mix up/strat in high level play basically makes him a one trick pony. As much as I like shugoki he's boring as hell. only thing that makes him competitive at all is his damage. he's probably the most poorly made hero in the game.

Nobuhi's Attacks slow? Their heavy attack indeed is slow however their light attack and "hidden stance" are quick, combined with the poison its one of the strongest hero in the game.

Sry but this tiers its so wrong top tier in tournament its a Conquer>Warlords>Shugoki( for bug heavy attack x2)>Warden. u only copy paste this top of another page.

Actually Nobushi's attacks are no quicker than anyone else's. Her top light is 18 frames of startup (vs. Warden's 15 frames) and her side lights are 15 frames of startup (vs. Warden's 18), but her stance change from side to side is so slow at 21 frames, vs. warlord's 5 and warden's 6 that her ability to switch up side to side hits is actually incredibly slow. Among the slowest in the game along with Raider and Shugoki.

Warlord should definitely be S-tier in both cases. He might be the strongest if not the second strongest character in the game right now.

I think Valkyrie in 1v1/2v2 might be B-tier in her current state. She's very slow, low damage, and can't chain anything without her shield bash against someone that can block well. After the buff, I'd hope she should be at least A.

Orochi is definitely not S-tier for 1v1/2v2. As someone who mains him, Orochi are extremely predictable in their attacks. All of their good hits come from the top and the right. I'd put him at A-tier tbh. He's good. Just not -that- good.

Conqueror. I've never even played Conqueror and I'd take him over my Valkyrie in a 1v1/2v2 any day. He's definitely not B-tier.

Also, as another has said, Raider is definitely not the worst in 4v4. High dmg combined with the grabs makes the raider very good at ambushing in a 4v4 situation.

I'm not much on the Nobushi, but I don't think she's quite S-tier myself. Although I take my opinion on her very lightly.
