Anybody know a way to counter the berserkers ridiculous unstoppable chain of attacks after a guard break as a peacekeeper? I have deflected and hit but it didnt bring them out of it. I have hit them but it didnt bring them out of it. I have blocked it but they keep on going. I think parry was the only successful thing but are hard as hell to land because the attacks were so fast. Please tips and tricks for me!
I often practice against a friend of mine who mains Berserker for that same reason. And Ive found one very important thing.........Be patient do not rush. Practice against a friend. One of my favorite and most hated things about the Berserker is that there is a flow or rhythm I guess. The biggest advantage is getting the timing of that rhythm down. Once that rhythm becomes second nature then your only thing to do is watch the direction depending on the combo. I hope this helped even slightly.
XImohteph is right, there is a rhythm to it. That rhythm depends on how he starts the chain, which can be triggered off basic attacks, dodge attacks, or deflects. Either way, after the first hit it is predictable. For example, let's say he starts with a left light attack. The chain would go: left light, right heavy, left light, right heavy, left light, etc until he chooses to do an overhead, which finishes the chain. This is always how it will go, so if he gets into a combo with a left light attack, be prepared for a slightly slower attack coming from the opposite direction - AND always be ready to parry the finishing overhead, which is slow.
Because the chain is extremely predictable, it will become easy for you to parry it - and yes, that is the only way to stop it, aside from dodging until he misses. Do NOT deflect because that does not interrupt combos and he can simply continue chaining. An advanced berserker, however, will rarely ever do a chain for very long because they know it's predictable, so they will be doing a lot of dodging and feinting.
well the berserkers you faced must just being doing the same combo, because it doesn't have to go like that at all. you can mix any direction, except top heavy.
i often will do left light, right heavy, right light, left heavy, top light, left heavy, right light, right heavy, top heavy. thats the great thing with the berserker, you can basically do a random combo everytime.
i just don't play it much at the moment, because the GB bug, but after the patch i will use it way more.
also to the OP, saying about trying to interrupt the combo with attack, you can early on, but after the berserker lands 4 hits his attacks will become uninterruptible. but really you just need to block one of the light attacks, that will stop the chain.
On peacekeeper (and some others) you can dash out of it unless backed into a corner. Peacekeeper has her easy access dodge too. So just leave and reset the fight. It's actually a real ***** for the infinite chain. Being able to parry it is bad enough, but the fact people can just leave it at will is like a slap in the face XD
yeah i find that a problem across the board, you can't really use any combos, when even if you land a hit, the next attack can still easily be dodged. and then you get punished kind of ruins the fun, makes you just turtle and throw one strike at a time.Originally Posted by Butonfly Go to original post
been saying for ages that they need to make some changes to dodge (ie get hit if you dodge the wrong way) or remove dodge attacks and make it so if you want free damage of a dodge you should have to dflect
